The excellent story and the way it is stylishly directed and presented, proves that there is still life left in this ancient genre.
  2. There are a few good moments here and there, but sadly, there's an unfinished aura to this game that permeates throughout. [PC Zone]
  3. Bottom line: if you like adventure games, this one is okay—but you won’t be doing yourself any disservice by GameFAQing your way through it.
  4. I wouldn’t really recommend it, unless slow-paced, frustrating adventures are your cup of tea. Or unless you really want to play a conspiracy adventure, and your only other choice is "Legacy: Dark Shadows."
  5. With a little more thought put into the interface, Moment of Silence could have been a graphic adventure classic, but as it stands now, it's a really good story, cleverly locked away inside a series of rooms that need to be clicked through.
  6. Long on conversation and short on mental challenge.
  7. There is a certain superficiality to The Moment of Silence that prevents you from getting totally immersed in the story.

A very strong, engaging story set in an interesting world. It's what will keep you playing despite the problems.
  9. The controls are easy but the static camera angle will cause a problem moving around in the game.
  10. A good story wrapped in not-so-good gameplay. Nothing here is terrible, though, and I felt compelled to play through just to see where the story was going.

Unfortunately, the mechanics are awkward and progress too tedious for anyone not already partly conditioned to the adventure genre's trappings.
  12. The title’s reliance on the same ol’, same ol’ mission types, however, hurts this score.
  13. With such a memorable plot and some passable, yet unspectacular, gameplay, it’s a shame that the bugs are holding it down.
  14. TMOS has an impressively complex storyline, backed up by superbly detailed background graphics.
  15. Takes so long getting to the meat of the story that all but the most die-hard of players will have gone elsewhere to eat long before then.

Despite the annoying path-finding faults and Good to see a point 'n' click adventure again, and particularly one of this quality. Despite the annoying path-finding faults and the need to speak to everyone umpteen times to get to the bit of information you need, the plot kept me coming back for more. Gorgeous cut scenes help things along, and I really hope House of Tales take all the constructive criticism on board. One thing that nobody mentioned - sometimes the dialogue sounds like a bad translation. Odd that the (apparently) American actors didn't notice that what they were saying wasn't 'normal' English and suggest changing it... Full Review »
