Great characters, unbelievable level design, well-executed game-engine cut scenes, outstanding voice acting and style that just won't quit, No One Lives Forever is the best game I've played in far too long.
  2. An all-around crowd pleaser with great weapons, exotic locales, and enough mystery to keep you coming back for more.
  3. The game is definitely a contender for game of the year. If a possible AI patch would be released, then this game would be a 10+.
  4. From the swank voice-over cast and Bond-ian soundtrack to the pounding rattle of machine gun fire, nobody does (sound) better.
  5. I can’t name another game in this genre that attempts to inject this much humor into the gameplay that never falls flat.
  6. An exceptionally cool game. It's got a fun, interesting story; intelligent level design; and provides a great mix of stealth and action.

Within the game, you have access to a variety of weaponry such as generic pistols, machine guns, sniper rifles and the Bond style briefcase rocket launcher. Oh yes.

"You look like you need a monkey"

"'How is the goat, over?' 'The goat is nervous. How do you think the goat is?'"

    An "oldie" but very
definitely a goodie. Great level design, good weapons feel, fantastic swinging 60's soundtrack, and just epic gadgets ("horny pheromone robot dog" that distracts any pursuing Alsatians, anyone?) They just don't make games like this anymore. NOLF is one of the greats from the Golden Era of PC gaming, with a great sense of humor (something a lot of modern games that take themselves way too seriously could learn from). Expand

This game is really amazing and incredible, because she look pretty and intelligent.

I'm writing this review in 2014. Besides the outdated graphics (which is unavoidable) this game absolutely slaughters any FPS in the last 5 years in terms of storyline, fun, and humor. This game is a perfect example of why graphics aren't everything in a game. They don't make games like NOLF anymore, now it's dumbed down crap like CoD and Halo with boring stories and zero recoil guns etc etc yawn. Yes, a 14 year old game in terms of creativity wipes the floor with almost any FPS released since. If you haven't played it yet you really should. Expand

    Best game I've ever played.

Even now, over 10 years after its release, this is still the best shooter.
Great story, funny dialogue, great locations, great leveldesign
which can be beat by both stealth and raw gunpower, never boring.
Sure the graphics are dated by now, but the game itself is still far more interesting than all battlefield and call of duty and all other military shooters combined (which are no "games" by any definition)
Too bad that I can't give it more than "10", because the 10 doesn't do it justice. This is truly one of the last masterpieces of the shooter GAME genre.

The best music, story and humour ever implemented in a PC game (in my not so humble opinion!). This is the funniest game I have ever played, and still worth playing 12 years on, if you have not already. It can be difficult to find a copy these days though. Expand

This game is outdated, and was when it came out. Deus Ex has better graphics AND gameplay already and it looks extremly poor these days. The levels aren't anything special, some missions are interested but the characters are ugly rendered, interaction is done poorly, some dialogue is extremly boring and makes you skip them even the first time you play and finally the stealth part is fun and all, it hardly needs to be used and brute force is most effective against everyone. The intel items are pointless, rankings are pointless and overall there is no real reward for being a good spy. I have to admit that I had already seen NOLF2 before this game and I am obviously not impressed, but even so this game could have been polished some, 2000 is post-Quake3 people. Expand
