  • Summary: A Murder of Ravens primarily introduces the cool young tricksters and cat burglars (the Arab and the young woman). They are clever, likeable and want to outsmart the violent butler. Hope almost destroyed? Is their plan doomed to failure? How will this end? Another nice cliffhanger.

A fitting and satisfying end to the trilogy, that manages to keep in line with player expectations and doesn't suffer from some of the mechanical problems of the first two episodes.

Great mysteries are hard to write, and there are many more failures in the genre than there are successes. Despite some stumbles in the final chapter, I still consider The Raven to be a success.

The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief is a solid adventure that is at its best during the first three or four hours of play, then it loses its grip and dissipates the potential of all the beautiful characters it had introduced before.

A Murder of Ravens saves The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief from going down in flames, but its narrative repetition and technical defects make for a turbulent ride.

The atmosphere and mystery the developers were going for has been perfectly captured but the execution feels too haphazard. This most recent chapters feels almost like a throwaway after the ambition set forth at the beginning.

As an ode to Agatha Christie, The Raven does a more then fair job. As a mystery charting it’s own ground, it ends up as little more than middling.

It’s truly a great shame to see a title which showed promise go out in a whimper due to predictable writing and a myriad of glitches.

First the score and review is for all three episodes. It is a solid adventure game with some small issues like camera getting stuck for some reason and your character getting invisible but thats about it. Puzzles are fairly easy and the game gives you points which you use to find hotspots and get hints, story is good and the ending was completely unexpected and quite a surprise (at least for me). From my point of view the final episode is better than the second one but not as good as the first. The puzzles are still not a bit challenging but at least this time there's more to do compared to the disappointing second episode. Unfortunately often the main challenge is finding hotspot's in every screen (there aren't many), which can be a bit annoying. The story is okay but the ending feels a bit too constructed and the game doesn't really have a message. After all the third episode is decent but not as good as expected after a good start. Expand
