Sims fans everywhere, from the casual to the hardcore, will absolutely love all of the new additions that are packed in here. World Adventures is guaranteed to impress -- it may just be the most ambitious expansion in the franchise yet -- and it will add hours upon hours of new areas to explore and new Sims to meet.
  2. The Sims 3: WA changes some gameplay mechanics and give to The Sims experience some really new tastes. One of the best expansion packs of the series.
  3. The Sims 3: World Adventures is simply one of the best expansions for a Sims title to date, providing an excellent experience for you and your Sims, and really reinvigorating the title.
  4. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, World Adventures adds an almost overwhelming amount of new content, which justifies the $40 price tag, though that still seems a tad high for an expansion pack.
  5. With World Adventures, the Sims 3 receives one of its greatest expansions. If you’re a fan of the original, there’s little doubt that you’ll want this in your collection.

World Adventures brings an intriguing addition to the Sims game mechanic, some beautiful new locations and tons of great new material.
  7. The Sims 3: World Adventures is a valiant effort at creating an expansion pack that does more than simply expand.
  8. The first Sims had a holiday add-on, the second Sims had a holiday add-on and now Sims 3 has one, too, and it’s the best one so far. The touch of adventure works miracles for Sims 3, but the stories are goofy and some missions boring. It’s still great, because it’s full of new things to explore.
  9. World Adventures introduces a number of fresh ideas and a bunch of great new content to the series.
  10. A fine first add-on for The Sims 3. The adventures work surprisingly well and the travel locations are a refreshing change to the small-town americana of the original game. [Dec 2009]
  11. The free world offers a lot of space for different activities which are - despite the adventures - quiet similar to those of Sunset Valley.
  12. Well worth the price in entertainment value. [Jan 2010, p.90]

Moving beyond just throwing more stuff into a box and putting a price tag on it, this expansion is built on a very compelling and consistent theme that breaks the Sims out of their current suburban environments but also gives them the opportunity to bring back new skills, stories and souvenirs that can impact their day-to-day life.
  14. 83
A worthy beginning for what will surely be a long line of expansion packs.
  15. With so much potential for additional vacation destinations down the line, World Adventure seems to beg for expansions of its own. Hopefully these will make exploring a little more of an adventure.

Maxis has created a mature and complete expansion with Sims 3: World adventures. Fun puzzles, relic hunting and meeting new people will make you feel like the smashing holiday is over before you know it. It'll make you want to go on a next trip immediately. For all those adventurous Sims-fans out there: this addictive expansion is worth it!
  17. Overall, the Sims 3 World Adventures sets an excellent standard for future expansions, introducing a fun and rewarding mode of play to the base game that, while markedly different from the core gameplay, still remains true to the spirit of The Sims series.
  18. World Adventures brings a new breed to the series by changing some of its main gameplay mechanics. Twists, missions and concrete objectives make this expansion far better than the classic “just more stuff” kind of add-on.
  19. Sims 3: World Adventures couldn't be a more promising expansion for the Sims series. Far from limiting itself to a pack of goodies for your Sims, World Adventures opens new horizons for Sims players, introducing them to new game mechanics and new places that reinvigorate the game and make it more interesting and rich in content.
  20. An excellent first expansion pack that adds not just new but genuinely different content to the mix.
  21. World Adentures is a great expansion. New gameplay mechanics, new locations and skills, but it's funny as ever. Fans will certainly enjoy it.
  22. Apart from the issues (which hopefully, there will be a cure for sooner or later), World Adventures is a very promising start to The Sims 3 expansion.
  23. If you're willing to foot the bill then the sheer amount of new content on display is sure to make this a reunion to remember.
  24. China, France and Egypt are the three varied locations waiting for you to be explored. The first The Sims 3 add-on is worth a try.
  25. A must have for all Sims 3 positive gamers. Labyrinths are far from difficult but exploring them was never that fun. Only if all add-ons were as good as this one. [Issue#187]
  26. So blimmin' addictive. [Jan 2010, p.77]
  27. An essential expansion pack, though be prepared to play hard and work even harder. [Christmas 2009, p.108]
  28. New gameplay focused on "adventures," simple puzzle-solving, and vacationing, along with a decent amount of new content, make for a fun and enjoyable Sims experience, despite some technical bugs.
  29. World Adventures offers a refreshing and fun alternative playstyle in the Sims series.
