  • Summary: Train, play, and care for your cats and dogs, and count on many unexpected twists and turns in this easy-to-play, laptop-friendly version of The Sims. The Sims Pet Stories features two great ways to play. In the new and engaging directed Story mode, you take on a variety of challenges as you compete for 1st place in a local pet show and learn to tame a variety of pet personalities. You even unlock rewards along the way as you achieve set goals. In open-ended Classic mode, you create your Sims and their pets, design their homes, and teach your pets tricks. You decide how their stories unfold. [Electronic Arts] Expand

  1. Pets was our favourite expansion pack and this improves it to no end. [Sept 2007, p.80]
  2. A great pedigree - you'll be hooked on this like grade A catnip. [Sept 2007, p.89]
  3. The characters are funnier, the stories more interesting and the gameworld that little bit more interactive thanks to the hairy companions running around. Let's just hope that volume 3, Castaway Stories, features a smoke monster and mysterious hatches.
  4. The Sims: Pet Stories is, for our money, more interesting than Life Stories in that it contains the relationship elements of the latter while adding in the extra dimension of training up a pet.
  5. A step too far in EA's attempts to make the franchise print more money. [Sept 2007, p.62]
  6. It seems that EA tries desperately to create new content and games for Sims players. You can see the desperation here. Pet Stories doesn’t offer anything new to the previous ones but the horrible “stories” which are so utterly stupid that the player feels ashamed playing them. Everything’s not bad though. Creating and training pet is quite okay and there’s a lot to do as in all Sims games. Still, I wouldn’t pay full price for this new... game. [Aug 2007]
  7. You really would be better off buying The Sims 2 and its Pets expansion though, and making up your own stories in your head. [Sept 2007, p.82]

I love the fact that after the stories end you can play in the open and do whatever you want.

I really enjoyed this game. I did have a couple of bugs but I called the tech support number and they fixed it.

I just finished this game... really liked it but a bit short. Wish there were more stories to download. Fun while it lasted! Loved the Alice and Sam story. Expand

I am so disappointed in this game. I was able to load the game onto my laptop but was unable to actually play it because the technical support said it was not tested on laptops so there was no guarantee I would be able to run it. I preordered this game back in February only to find out now it won't work. I am so disappointed in EA. Expand
