With a great engine, a merciless damage model and AI and the cool Clancy atmosphere, Sum of All Fears is definitely enjoyable.
Represents all that is Tom Clancy; a good plot, a good simulation, and quality.

The Sum Of All Fears wasn´t the best Tom Clancy movie and it isn´t the best game of this franchise. Nonetheless this game is a thrilling anti-terror shooter with a great story. Most movie adaptations are way weaker than this game. Great for Tom Clancy fans.

Although the game plays similarly to previous Red Storm games, The Sum of All Fears is much easier, and it lacks both preplanning and character advancement elements.
All these practical problems obscure Sum's flat-out brilliant mission design. [August 2002, p.70]
Graphically, SOAF walks a narrow line between ultra-realistic settings and way-too-sparse texture mapping.
It's simply too easy, even on higher difficulty levels, and suffers from a "thrown-together" feeling of being rushed to meet a movie deadline.
It is the exact same thing [as "Rainbow Six" and "Ghost Recon"], except for the planning, the intricacy, the strategy, the coordination, and most importantly, the fun.

Encore l’une des conneries de pseudo-jeux de la franchise Rainbow Six bricolées par les branques dévoués de chez Red Storm pour Ubisoft et évidemment inspirées par les conneries boulottées par Tom Clancy (autrement dit, des clancyneries) l’écrivaillon parano-commercial des complots déjoués par l’Amérique triomphante et omnisciente !
Notons qu’ici, c’est aussi inspiré du film à la con avec l’affligeant Ben Affleck, ce qui n’arrange rien non plus. Sortie en 2002, cette « Sum of all fears » est (déjà) l’épisode je-ne-sais-combien de la licence Rainbow Six et de tous ses avatars à la mords-moi-le-noeud et que rien n’a changé et que c’est comme de bien entendu toujours aussi con et balourd à la fois.
Il s’agit donc de la énième resucée de ce pseudo-FPS tactique anti-terroriste qui ne deviendra éventuellement (et vraiment opérationnelle… et jouable) que des années plus **** avec les Rainbow Six à Vegas !… En attendant, on se coltine donc (encore) ce FPS en carton laid comme un pou, simplet (on ne voit même pas son flingue, putain !), bourré de bugs et victime d’une IA… inexistante.
L’environnement sonore est aussi pourri que l’environnement graphique, ce qui ne laisse pas d’étonner, c’est le moins qu’on puisse dire. Des sons aussi pauvres, des bruitages ratés à ce point (lorsqu’ils sont au moins… présents !) on se croirait revenu à la préhistoire du PC, quasiment au début des années 90.
Les sensations sont clairement absentes de ce jeu tout moisi recyclé à n’en plus pouvoir mais l’ennui, lui, est bel et bien toujours omniprésent en tout cas : va dans la poubelle retrouver tes « **** camarades » !
