  • Summary: The Ward has some good puzzles and some interesting points in its story, but these moments only punctuate a very bland game.

  1. A great storyline and and impressive interface make for a great game.

In the end, Dementium: The Ward is a cohesive game with the sum of all of its parts adding up to a frightening whole.
  3. More dialogue or commentary from your character as you experiment would go a long way to nudging people in the right direction.
  4. It’s this emphasis on storytelling that eventually spells the demise for this title. The story just doesn’t flow consistently throughout the game.
  5. Full of promise, with a textured plot premise and unorthodox, and at times, stunning visuals. But the sub-par execution of the confusing backstory and lethargic gameplay, confounded by the limited viewing perspective, sinks this release right from the outset.
  6. The Ward was obviously inspired by LucasArts' classic "The Dig" and Inscape's underrated "Drowned God," only it's nowhere as good or as innovative as either title.
  7. Simply isn't interesting enough to merit sticking it out that long.
