This is basically an extended version of the free Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online with a weak single-player mode and a $30 price tag.

Tiger Woods 12 for the PC is a cut-rate and buggy golf sim that shares little more than a name with its superior console counterparts.

Obsolete graphics and dull controls await all wanna-be golfers. The Masters tourney in Augusta with its video diaries is the only reason to try this piece instead of its free online version. [Oct 2011]

Now that it's saddled with a price tag, a bare minimum of polish, and one new course, I'm not even sure just telling you to avoid it is enough. [Holiday 2011, p.81]

Worst game I have ever bought. Buggy (messed up career mode), appalling graphics (PGA Online engine), lack of options (can't even turn off music and commentary independantly). Just rubbish. I would punch them in the throat if I could get near them. Expand
  2. This game effectively gives you all the content of PGA Tour Online plus some extra courses. Overall, a pretty big selection. The gameplay is probably the saving value of this game. The trueswing method makes playing with a mouse challenging and rewarding. The game encourages you to play online in groups. The online community is very polite and cheerful in game consistantly. There are very active tournaments going on all the time and it is a pretty social game. As for singleplayer, there is little to be said. I dont really care for Tiger Moments since EA is just sucking off the franchise so really multiplayer is where the fun is at. Overall, this is probably the best golf game on PC. Ive tried tiger woods 08 and this version is much more polished and active. Try it, PGA Tour Online is free anyway. Expand
  3. Oh dear. This is not the same game as the 360 or PS3 version. This is similar to the VERY expensive to play online version that EA put out. The graphics - although now supporting 1920x1080 rez are very VERY poor indeed. The images just seem "blown up" versions of very low res gfx. The golfers themselves are decently animated but nothing like as complex in appearance as the PS3 or 360 version. If you've bought a PC version of this game before (2008 was the last I think) then in many ways this is a HUGE downgrade. GFX the same, features removed and worst of all the "online" version of the game is just a 3 month membership to the VERY expensive electronic arts PGA online that really is crud (download Golfstar instread, it's better and it's totally free). Given how old PS3 and 360 are and how much more powerful even a modest PC is than these geriatric consoles, then the absolute poorness of this game is staggering. I would say EA should be ashamed - but they won't be, it's be proved a long time back that EA have no shame. Expect more rubbish like this from them in the future
The worst golf game to come out for 8 or 9 years. Buy on PS3 if you have to, avoid PC version like it's plague ridden.

  4. I can't believe they used the online-in-browser graphic engine for this game. With the price they are asking for you would expect a real console engine for the graphics. So basically, you are paying for just the 'The Masters' road game play. geezz... is EA that lazy now. IMO they are ripping off PC-gamers. Expand
