The first game was revolutionary but overly "square", and Tomb Raider 3 had better graphics, but it was very difficult and "more of the same". Tomb Raider 2 got the middle ground: maintained the essence of the first game with improvements in graphics and gameplay, but without being confused, "more of the same" and unnecessarily difficult as the third game. In short, Tomb Raider 2 bordered on perfection. While Tomb 1 is visually dark and claustrophobic, the phases of Tomb 2 are more colorful, biggest and very memorable. The four phases of the wreck of Maria Doria are by far my favorite phases of all Tomb Raider serie, for its immersive atmosphere, symbolically and literally. Novice players of this new generation will certainly face major difficulties with the game controls, which are well archaic. No movement is automatic or fluid: from one platform to another, all the leaps and Lara moves must be calculated accurately by the player himself; otherwise it's instant death. The good news is what the PC version is possible to save the game any time you want. Expand

First game, but with bigger and better everything. Better gameplay, better graphics, more guns, better story. Great, but sometimes it was too cryptic.

The story kept you engaged throughout and the level design is up there with some of the best in Tomb Raider. One of the best Tomb raiders out there in my opinion. Expand

Everything you love about TR1 is presented here. The puzzles, the traps, the whole concept is similar. Tomb Raider II focuses more on actionEverything you love about TR1 is presented here. The puzzles, the traps, the whole concept is similar. Tomb Raider II focuses more on action than exploration, which could turn some players off. Thankfully, Lara is better prepared for combat and now wields a M16 and a grenade launcher. TR2 introduces vehicles for the first time with the speed boat sequences being the most memorable out of the entire series. Lara croft now has the ability to climb ladders and walls. TR2 on PC is good experience. The game looks and sounds great. Expand
