An incredibly enjoyable port. Veterans of the series will appreciate the spaced out levels and new pace, as well as the serious increase in difficulty late in the game.
  2. A few new moves have been introduced, the missions now have a less constrained non-linear feel to them, and the online play has been greatly improved from the PS2 version. However, it’s recommended that you invest in a good analog gamepad.
  3. A huge game, packed with levels, skaters, new tricks, tons of humor, and with gameplay that’ll challenge you to the end: you’re likely to keep playing this one for a long time.
  4. TH4 is so packed with content and character that even a non-skater should have a wicked time when armed with a solid gamepad. [Dec 2003, p.109]
  5. The PC port may be on par with previous PC installments, adding higher resolution options while maintaining the gameplay that made the series great, but the narrow distribution and somewhat clunky external player-matching program make for a great game that's difficult to play online.
  6. The PC version of THPS4 is a by-the-book port with one major upgrade: the online mode.
  7. You're given a wider degree of freedom than in the series' past entries. [Dec 2003, p.144]

I have probably beaten this game atleast 10 times, its still just as fun even though games with much better graphics and physics exist nowadays. One of my top ten games of all time Expand

Don't let all the 'need a gamepad' reviews sway you if you don't have one....I've been using my keyboard and loving it. Great game, big fun. Collapse

This game keeps you playing for a great many hours and is a fine addition to Activisions Flagship series. It makes many VAST improvements over the first three games. There are some small unresolved graphics issues and gameplay issues that keep it from a ten, but it's definitely worth the 30 bucks I paid for it. Expand
