  1. This is a ludicrous amount of excellent fun to get for free, and in that price bracket, it automatically gains an extra point on the Out-Of-Ten-o-Meter.
  2. A fantastic step up from the basic Nations released a couple of years back.
  3. When you get online, you'll relise how internationally popular this game is. [July 2008, p.111]

Even though Nations is the free version of the game, it's still very good. You can customize your name and download car skins. There's a worldwide multiplayer that is very fun. It takes a bit to adjust to be able to drive in this game professionally. There is also a single player if you don't have internet or want to be alone. Tip: After a while, to make yourself better, start being a perfectionist about your races. Expand

Its has (again) stunning graphics and a very smooth gameplay. Now with a lot of new elements, like offroad tracks ... and the huge community its the best freeware racers out there and probably one of the best in general ! Expand

I'm not a big fan of racing games until now..the game is free and just so much fun, especially multiplayer online. It takes me back to the original Wipeout on Playstation and reminds me of the insane tracks of Stunt Car Racer on Amiga but it's all up to date for 2008. For perfection in your driving, get an analog controller. Expand

Nations, the free side of the Trackmania Forever game, (I will be using that term to refer to Nations and United combined, as it's more-or-less the same thing, but with different features.) might seem a little bit stripped down, but it's still high-quality and fun to play.

It builds on the Nations ESWC game, and it's as simple as anything. Choose a track and just go. Simple, really. It does let itself down with the on-line play restrictions, but given that there's no advertising in the game, what else could they do?

All in all, a quick, fun racing game that anyone can pick up and play.
