  • Summary: For this addition to the ever-popular series, Ultima Online partnered with legendary artist, Todd McFarlane, creator of Spawn, to revolutionize the game with exotic, fantastical creatures. You will enter a world under siege, where evil forces have aligned their powers in an attempt to conquer and vanquish the virtuous. Lord Blackthorn returns, corrupted by his own evil ambitions, as a half-man and all-evil tyrant. Over 30 new monsters and creatures designed by McFarlane add a darker, edgier twist to the once familiar land of Britannia. [Electronic Arts] Expand

  1. There is freshness to the latest version of Ultima Online that transcends the same graphical elements players of late have been used to.
  2. 70
The biggest problem Lord Blackthorn's Revenge has is that even with the new things that have been added, it's still basically a dated game.
  3. Whether or not you'll enjoy Ultima Online depends on whether you find appealing the prospect of establishing your own objectives within a virtual sandbox and then constantly repeating a number of relatively mundane tasks to achieve those goals.
  4. The effort made for new palyers is commendable. [August 2002, p.73]
  5. Ultima may have been King of the RPGs once, but it has been standing still for too long in a world that moves at a million miles an hour.
