  • Summary: Exploring an alternative approach on World War II, one in which Hitler is assassinated in the early days, players take command of experimental weapons, prototype vehicles and units rarely seen in strategy games in an attempt to re-write or secure the historical outcome. War Front is a WWII 3D RTS game providing fast-paced, adrenaline pumping conquests. Players feel the atmosphere of WW2 in a new environment; besides commanding their existing units, they have to care about reinforcements, resource management and researching new prototypes. Choose what missions to fight, what troops to use, and when to call in reinforcements. Completing objectives and capturing strategic locations such as train stations or airfields in each mission help you to win subsequent campaigns. Each mission has multiple primary and secondary objectives that are connected to other missions, providing almost limitless strategic choices. War Front is definitely not a 'historic simulation' but a game with FUN being its number one priority. Expect slightly excessive explosions. [CDV] Expand

Sure, it’s more burger and fries than filet mignon. But it’s a really good burger and fries.
  2. All in all, if you enjoy a good RTS and are looking for a unique take on the tired WWII genre, War-Front Turning Point is worth the purchase price and your valuable time.
  3. War Front: Turning Point never tries to reinvent the wheel – it simply does a good job of mimicking the conventions of real-time strategy games that have come before it and puts it into a very comfortable setting.
  4. The pattern of play - building a base, waging war - has ended up as middle-of-the-road as a Tiger on a country lane. [June 2007, p.88]
  5. Comment on the solid but surprise-free multiplayer mode recognising that most buyers will never touch it.

It turns out that War Front wants to do...something...online between missions, and because it can't do whatever that is, the game just crashes.

I mostly agree with Steele X's review. I actually enjoyed this game because it has an entertaining story (if some what cheesy), 3 factions with a nice variety of units and upgrades. Most of all I enjoyed the game's story how there is no Hitler and the Russians are the bad guys. Collapse

So far, I am enjoying this game.....have not completed it . Graphics seem fine. The big problem for me was during installation. If you are having difficulties you may need to download tages protection drivers. After I did that things finally worked correctly. Enjoyable so far. Expand

The idea of the game is great, those weapons that weren't used in WWII such as Mause tank were put into the game, or the fps mode when controlling bunkers. But what made the game bad was its graphics and balances. Expand
