  • Summary: War World is a fast paced, 3rd person online shooter where players build and battle the ultimate mech warriors. Designed for multiplayer mayhem, War World lets players challenge other warriors online as they try to work their way up the War World rankings ladder. As players move up the ladder, they are able to earn and purchase upgrades and enhancements for their mechs. War World will also offer several single player modes, 3D arcade style games, where players can upload their scores to the web site for bragging rights. After launch, War World will continue to flourish with new expansion packs being offered every couple of months. The first expansions will offer a fully customizable skin editor for the mechs, new mechs, new arenas and new weaponry. [Third Wave Games] Expand

  1. Fun, engaging, and has a high replay value. It has been a while since I played a mech game that had me saying “just one more level!” until well past midnight.
  2. It's instantly reminiscent of Tribes, and in my book, that is a very, very admirable game to be comparable to. It's fast paced, well-balanced, and looks amazing with an impressive array of mech design that manages to not just clone anime cybernetics. Perhaps best of all, Lighthouse has chosen to release this with no CD-in-drive restrictions.
  3. OK, the price does elevate our opinion on the game but conversely it plays well, is exceedingly fast and there is a load of rampaging to excite action buffs and at £13 it’s a steal!
  4. If you’re looking for a new conquest after finishing "FEAR" or "Call of Duty 2" then you’ll probably not find much in War World. If, however, you’re an old-school arcade fan and can manage a first-person shooter without much trouble, then I’d say War World is pretty much a must-have.
  5. This is pretty much as straightforward as shooters get. You play destroy everything that moves, upgrade your equipment, then do it all again. However, the gameplay is so fast that it's easy to forget the easy designs.

A top effort from Third Wave, War World is a good choice for anyone interested in a budget title with a big bang.
  7. Ultimately, the lack of a convincing "feel," combined with a predictable and rather uninspired selection of weapons mean War World is never going to grasp you by the imagination and shake you with a hydraulic arm until you lie limp and broken. [Oct 2005, p.98]

Darn near a perfect game. If it had more than just deathmatch modes, it would score a perfect 10. This is easily the best INDY game ever released. The low price, no hassles download, and incredible gameplay means this one shouldn't be missed! Collapse

Very close to perfect. I picked it up for $10 yesterday and I haven't stopped playing it. So far i haven't wanted to get off. Easly best $10 i have ever spent on a game. Definatley worth getting. Expand
