  • Summary: Set in the far reaches of outer space during a new Dark Age, WARFRAME introduces the Tenno, a race on the brink of extinction after being enslaved by the Grineer for centuries. Players enter WARFRAME on the cusp of the Grineer's victory over the Tenno until they begin to arm themselves with WARFRAMES - an ancient exo-skeletal technology only they can operate. Hidden within the Orokin Derelicts of a lost civilization, new WARFRAMES lie dormant and undiscovered. These artifacts are the Tenno's only hope for survival. Expand

  1. With the lack of a Pay to Win system and easy engagement for new players, Warframe offers some quality time.

An interesting free to play game with some potential to expand in future updates.

Digital Extremes has created something that's often genuinely fun to play, and given the cost of entry, Warframe's well worth a try if you're in the mood for something different.
  4. Jul 1, 2013
As a free-to-play game, Warframe is a nice surprise that sets the base for a promising future.
  5. May 6, 2013
Warframe is a good title if contextualized in the panorama of FreeToPlay, however the high level of competition on this front would make us hope for a more solid and strong product.
  6. Aug 2, 2013
Some problematic menus pale in comparison to Warframe's real problem: a pervasive tendency toward repetition.

One year and twelve updates in, Warframe appears to be a solid action game leveraging really excellent technology to create a fun and engaging experience. There are still some rough edges and many opportunities to amp up the variety of content, but with a compelling world and addictive, twitchy action, Warframe has a lot to offer.

One of the best MMOs I've ever played. The graphics are really beautiful, it gets lots of updates and it's free to play. There is a marketplace where you can buy stuff with real money, but it's not really necessary. after playing for almost 100 hours, the only thing I bought was a color pack for my warframes.
The best and the most important part of this game in my opinion is farming. You'll need to farm to build yourself new frames and weapons. The farming in this game is fun, you can always choose which type of mission suites you best.

This game is solid, great mechanics and functionality. Melee isn't as great as it could be, but not enough of an issue to matter much at all. The only downside is the large expense of using the store, the actual, real-life money store, I mean. It's actually completely unnecessary, as everything in the game can be found without buying it, but it can make the game easier in the beginning.
    Otherwise: zero issues.

Really great game. It has large updates that are put out each month. It keeps getting better. Very polished gameplay. One of the best free to play games I've played. I would highly recommend experiencing it with your friends as it was meant to be played cooperatively and it's a far more fun than when played solo. Expand

"Space Ninjas"; need I say more? The only thing that could top that would be the inclusion of Space Pirates but then I wouldn't be able to hear anything else over the sound of the game's interstellar awesomeness. Warframe is a great shooter made by a company that has a long legacy of action games. Shooter skills and platformer style moves allow you to run on walls, jump chasms, and lay into the enemy with everything from heave repeater laser guns to swords... The weaponry in the game is truly awesome and every Warframe is fun to play with it's own individual mix of powers and stats. It's free to play and everything in the game can acquired, with the only limitations being time to get it and how many active weapons/warframes you can own at any one time. A minor investment in the game though ($20) gives you enough coin to unlock a huge garage ready to stock with every warframe in the game and several dozen various weapons. It is well worth the cost if you like a lot of variety and is the only real limitation of the free game. It's a blast to play with friends or just in "online-instant-group" mode. Two thumbs up. It is a really interesting game but not perfect. It's like mixing Vanquish movement concepts with Mirrors Edge and adding it to a sci fi shooter. It's freaking fast and fun to play but becasue of that movement speed sometimes it is difficult to play it ina more serious way. It is still a great game becasue of it mechanics. Expand

Networking issues as far as the eye can see, gameplay reforms from 1.0 to 2.0 everywhere, re-re-re-reused content, server downtimes, flat difficulty scaling, huge amounts of grind required.. One can argue that Warframe is unrefined and not ready for release.

    And they would be right

Starts off great then within hours becomes so unbearably repetitive you just want to blow up your puter!!! Terrible customer service too!!! They tend to not want to hear about problems from players or do anything to correct said problems, all you get is lame excusses. Expand
