  • Summary: It was only a matter of time before the Selentine Merchants ventured too far from their trade routes, over the South Seas, searching for rich lands that might lay beyond. But they were unprepared for the terrors they would awaken, and the devastation they would unleash upon the world of Etheria. At first, the southern continent seemed a peaceful, idyllic place - warm and tropical. But that would soon change. Although rich in gold and silver, the Selentines soon met the inhabitants of this new land - snake-like creatures who called themselves Ssrathi and their land¡K Keshan. They were names that would come to be feared in later years. The Selentines slew these first Ssrathi and took their gold, thinking them simple and primitive. But Nature too is simple and primitive, and it wields the most destructive powers and so it was with the Ssrathi. Their empire was large, their knowledge of magic extensive, and their Shaman-King, Iriki, was a creature whom even the Gods rightly feared. The war that followed would change the face of Etheria forever. Join with the many races of Etheria as you fight your way through the ruins, jungles and deserts of the southern continent of Keshan, searching for new lands to conquer, and the treasure with which you might build an Empire. Or take the role of the Ssrathi the snakemen of Keshan as they repel the invaders and then unleash the full might of their empire upon the northern realms! [Enlight Software] Expand

  1. For those of you new to the series Warlords Battlecry III has a lot to offer that you won’t find in any other RTS title, and if you like RTS games, there’s a lot to like here. A traditional RPG fan will find lots to love too with the hero driven game play.
  2. The range of maps is impressive, though this game is likely to appeal most to Lord of the Rings-loving mythologists.
  3. With all the different combinations to choose from it is almost certain that no two games would be alike. Some missions are also replayable to let you gain XP quicker to level up your character that much quicker for those harder tasks.
  4. It falls back too often on the war weary build-a-base mechanic as its core, but the robustness and depth of the civilization tree will help ensure many hours of gameplay for RTS and series fans alike.
  5. Of course, the game improves enough on the past titles in the series that it will appeal primarily to existing fans and they certainly won’t be disappointed.

Flawed as it is, the sheer replay value of all the races and classes makes Battlecry III a good value at the bargain game price of $29.99.
  7. The game's tagline speaks volumes; calling Battlecry III "The original role-playing strategy game" is a fine way of declaring the game's legacy, but at the same time it highlights just how little has really changed since the first title was released. [Aug 2004, p.108]

Out of all strategy games I have ever played, by which I mean at least thirty, being among them all the Civilization seriels, Age of Empires, Warcraft and other classics both TBS and RTS, this has been by far the most addicting, fun, and of course strategic game of all; the only game that is almost as good as Warlords Battlecry III is the one before it, Warlords Battlecry II. THE best RTS EVER created, contrary to the other players i belive that the graphics are good and that the main part of an RTS is strategy and gameplay, The main RPG elements in any game are stoyline and depth. All of these rank the best ive ever seen and ive played RTS and TBS games for a sizable fraction of my time for years now, this game is by far the best. Expand

The demo is addictive as hell, not much approvement on the graphics in the game, except the spells. As a fan it's no question if i like it but for the normal gamer i don't know if it's intresting enough. Expand

Good game. Love the hero system, RTS is good. But graphics needs a lot of improvment. With good graphics, I would of gave it a 9.
