A substatial no-frills package. [Dec 2007, p.82]
What's more maddening for this particular reviewer is that Japanese gamers seem to think the Western market is saturated with little more than banal first-person shooters, but then they flock in droves to the likes of Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors, lovingly embracing perhaps the most unrewarding and unchallenging gameplay mechanic ever created.

Well it was a splendid experience =) Considering the age i was playing it, the impression was even more solid.

It's the same solid game you've been playing since "Dynasty Warriors 2" came out back in 2000.
Warriors Orochi is nothing more than fan service from Koei and Omega Force.
With fantastic story lines, but without the fully realized team system, Warriors Orochi appeals much more to old fans than it does draw in new ones.
Warriors Orochi is really only for the hardcore fans of the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors franchises. We freely admit that we’re not one of those. You either like it or you don’t. You either care about the story or you don’t. Put Average Joe Gamer and this reviewer down in the “don’t” column.
Do not play Warriors Orochi. You'll be in desperate need of high-caliber pain-killers to stomach all that cheese.
The best installment to date of this genre of game. Now I am not surprised to see so many mediocre ratings, as in all honesty, compared to other games from other genres, this is about a 6/10, but for this genre, the Koei pioneered Asian-With-Giant-Halberd-Hack-And-Slash, its a 9/10.

The progression system was busted, you actually had to get every single character to max level to actually max level any individual character. Anyway, it was the game with the most playable characters I have ever played, just insane. But, if you played both DW and SW, there is not much to discover here. Still, had a lot of fun with it.

ça s'appelle "Warriors Orochi" et non "Dynasty Warriors" mais c'est la même daube ! graphismes indigents, présentation indigne, mauvais goût généralisé, jouabilité inexistante... seules les voix que l'on peut mettre en japonais font sourire quelque temps (pas trop longtemps quand même).
Répétitif jusqu'à la nausée et particulièrement stupide : un titre de plus à ajouter à la (déjà) longue liste des étrons à la "Dynasty Warriors" dussent-ils se cacher de honte derrière d'autres noms plus ou moins ronflants... mais çe ne prend pas !
