  1. Despite the good attempt, WCP2 is nothing compared to real-life poker.
  2. Despite the lackluster presentation, the core card gameplay in the World Championship Poker 2 is solid. Fans of poker should definitely find the game both challenging and entertaining.

Seeing poker-star Howard Lederer on the box piqued our interest, but once you get in the game, WCP2 hits you with weak voice acting, substandard graphics, and wonky animation. [Apr 2006, p.100]

With nothing beyond a grim gambling fascination, I quickly went from reckless overbetting calamities to profitably unsexy play. [May 2006, p.87]

Fine selection of game types, but outdated and lacking in soul. [May 2007, p.80]
  6. If you forget about the weird tell animations, the constantly repeated phrases and terrible voice acting of the players then the actual poker in the game is decent. Just remember, let the suckers go out first and then you play.

I also like this game, but when you get really far in a touranment it freezes. I've played in the same touranment twice now because it freezes.

I really like the game, but it freezes and crashes at the worst times. Since you can't save more than one instance of a game you end up I really like the game, but it freezes and crashes at the worst times. Since you can't save more than one instance of a game you end up wasting tons of time doing the samething over and over again because the thing crashed - the alternative is to overwrite when it might be to your disadvantage. Very annoying. Full Review »
