100World of Goo falls into a special category that only a select few games fall into. Do you remember when you first got your hands on Super Mario 64, the excitement that oozed out of you when you picked up the pad and controlled Mario around in 3D for the first time? Or when you were pulling out the Master Sword from its stone placement in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time? These were special moments in a gamer’s life and playing World of Goo deserves to be placed alongside such events.
-
100World of Goo's mix of ingenious physics-based puzzles and witty, colorful presentation make it a game almost everyone should check out. It goes by fast -- you can get through most of the puzzles in 5-6 hours -- but for $20, there's little excuse not to check out this World.
-
100And, for you PC gamers, World of Goo is without a doubt one of the best indie titles on Steam (or for other forms of digital distribution). The game features charming animate balls of goo, a refreshingly fun gameplay concept, and some of the best puzzling available on either platform.

-
90The members of 2D Boy should be carried around in chariots while this glory lasts - because at some point, they're going to realise what a murderously high standard they've set for themselves, and run away forever.
-
Engrossing puzzle games featuring balls are a dime a dozen. But this one is different, believe me. This one is exceptional. [Dec 2008]
-
90World of Goo is an amazing downloadable PC game that you simply must buy. It's packed full of brilliant, challenging levels. It's gorgeous. It's got beautiful music. And it controls really well.
-
90Innovative, addictive, and delightfully weird, World of Goo is a superb puzzle game.
-
90In a gaming world populated by companies able to throw millions of pounds at tired franchises that sell on their name alone and where genuine innovation and fresh ideas should be welcomed with open arms, there's no better game to throw your weight behind than World of Goo. If more titles were made with this much passion the gaming world would be a much nicer, although possibly gooier, place.
-
One of the many factors that elevate WoG beyond mere construction puzzles is the excellent physics engine.
-
90Anyone not buying it right now is making an idiotic mistake. [Dec 2008, p.66]

Addictive! Typical “brain-training” game with original levels and lots of fun. Do not try it if you do not have enough time to spare. This game is a classic “one-more-level-then-go-to-bed” experience. [Dec 2008]
-
80This is a game that will make you hold your breath, and curse at your monitor (I have since apologized to my LCD).
