Mists of Pandaria looks and sounds simply beautiful. And it knows it, providing ample opportunity to ride massive kites or giant jade dragons and ogle sculpted monuments and tiered pagodas all while listening to an epic orchestral soundtrack or a nearly flawless monologue delivered by talented voice actors.

Mists of Pandaria is the best WoW expansion to date. Filled with content, quests, optional activities, items to find and reputations to grind for, this expansion will keep fans hooked for a long time. If you don't like WoW, though, there's no way you will be interested in Mists of Pandaria.

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria is a huge expansion to an already huge game. With more and increasingly diverse content, Blizzard shows that the venerable game can still amaze and capture players, both hardcore and casual. While the engine is showing its age, this is a fresh new World of Warcraft, inviting us to yet again fight for what is ours.

The amount of content present in Mists of Pandaria is itself a completely new game.

There are still a few little quirks, and likely still some balancing and other changes required, but it's clear that this is a great World of Warcraft expansion, and that the team behind the game are still focused on giving WoW players what they want. Recommended.

I must admit that Blizzard learns from its mistakes – Mists of Pandaria is much better than Cataclysm. For the first time in ages I'm having fun playing WoW. [12/2012, p.70]

Blizzard returns to glory by re-balancing the whole game, introducing some great new areas for gamers to explore and adding some quite interesting classes.

Mists of Pandaria is a really good expansion for World of Warcraft that offers plenty to all players, regardless of the play style they prefer. Let's hope that the promise of frequent updates will be kept and no one will get bored with existing content. Everyone should be able to answer this question: What is Mists of Pandaria? For me it's a WoW adventure I have been waiting for since 2010. Remember though, that grading Mists of Pandaria right now is simply an attempt to foresee where Blizzard's game is headed.

The expansion adds more wonderful charm to the game while not exactly taking the huge risks that we've seen in past expansions, and that's okay. As a returning player, there's plenty to do to keep me busy thanks to all of the end game content, and there will be more to come when Blizzard implements the game's upcoming 10 and 25 man raid encounters.

Despite it's lack of epic scope in comparison with the previous expansions, Mists of Pandaria proves to be one of the most complete add-ons to date for World of Warcraft. The amount of innovation and level of optimization is remarkable, and if you are a WoW fan, Mists of Pandaria is something you don't want to miss.

World of Warcraft stages a great comeback. Beautiful settings and an atmospheric story arc generate a well done Mists of Pandaria, while casuals celebrate the new and core gamers mourn the past.

You won't regret your excursion to these ursine lands if you've still got the spirit of exploration, the scars, and the fond feelings of battle etched into your heart. Those less into the prospect of jumping into WoW yet again may just as well stay in hibernation.

The best questing in World of Warcraft, with strong emphasis on storytelling, resulting in an entertaining run from 85 to 90 that seldom tumbles into tedium.

An expansion worthy of the franchise’s legacy that, according to sales and subscriptions data, pulls the series back on the right track, in a spectacular way. On the other hand however, the limitations of the World of Warcraft platform are similarly underlined. There’s no room for fundamental restructuring of the game. [November 2012]

The virtual lands of World of Warcraft is getting a little long in the teeth but Mists of Pandaria with its lush forests, Asian inspired settings and new race will create this unique and entertaining gaming experience. And besides... pets vs pets... it doesn't get any better than this and best of all, it even promotes new players to the lands of World of Warcraft.

Mists of Pandaria harkens back to the good old days of WoW, sometimes even a bit too much. The leveling up experience is great and Pandaria as an area looks fantastic. New little things like pet battles and handling your own farm are surprisingly good fun. The real problems lie at the end of the game where everybody is forced into grinding daily quests day after day since there are no other ways of getting reputation anymore. The new talent and glyph system is also very bland. Thankfully the new instances are as fun as always, even if they do not help at the reputation grinds anymore. [Sept 2012]

This is expansion is much, much lighter in tone than the last two. The overall look of Pandaria is sure to cheer you up, with its bright colors and traditional Asian architecture setting it off from the rest of the WoW universe. The developers have said that since players have already spent so much time saving the world, this time they can focus on exploring. The soundtrack of inspiring instrumental music helps as well.

Mists of Pandaria is an extensive expansion going further than just adding raids and dungeons. The mechanical simplifications and the ridiculous amount of standard quests are annoying though.

Pandaria is a very nice expansion for WoW, adding a ton of a content, an outstanding new territory and some clever touches to enhance the experience of the classic MMO. However, even with the excellent craft of Blizzard, it can't avoid some of the old routines, making everything a bit predictable.

Previous World of Warcraft releases have been genuine events. This one is simply an expansion pack. A good expansion pack, for sure, with lots of content to keep you playing one of the best and most beloved MMOs ever created. Just don't expect it to be anything more.

For me, Mists is an excellent World of Warcraft expansion. However, in terms of MMOs in general it does not bring the thunder that a WoW expansion used too. If you are a veteran WoW player than Mists has a lot to offer in terms of game play and especially content. If you are a hardened MMO vet looking for something new this is not the game for you any more.

Mists of Pandaria is one of the most complete expansions from World of Warcraft. It's true that the game could be more challenging, but it adds plenty of content to keep you playing.

The fourth World of Warcraft expansion set is trying to get back all of those souls lost in last months, even years. At the end of the day it manages to get them back, letting them forget Cataclysm that's been dull as ditch water.

Yes, we laughed when we heard about the 'casual' panda's and Pokémon in the world's most well-known MMO. But we admit it: our first impressions were incorrect. Mists of Pandaria is a worthy expansion of World of Warcraft, that's meant for the more serious WoW-player, ironically enough.

I haven't enjoyed the game this much in years. They have managed to do what 12 months ago I wouldn't have thought was possible, they've put the fun back into World of Warcraft.
  28. 80
Mists of Pandaria is in no way a revolution and brings no radical changes to World of Warcraft. But tickles in all the right places, and does so with an energy that's hard to ignore. Forget the Kung Fu Panda jokes. This is at least the second best World of Warcraft expansion yet.

World of Warcraft is one of the few MMORPGs that manages to pull off a satisfying endgame (and thereby justify its outdated subscription model), and the classes and gameplay have reached a blinding level of polish over the last seven years. While it's no longer the only choice out there for a great MMO experience, World of Warcraft seems content with its place.

The rigid quest structure and age-old combat system feel archaic when measured up against the new kid on the block Guild Wars 2, and the new features that the Mists of Pandaria brings aren't quite enough to recommend it to MMORPG newcomers over the NCsoft title. Blizzard has done plenty right with its latest expansion, but the battle to rule this thriving genre could be about to heat up like never before.

Solo play is also the best it's ever been, with more boss-like encounters, dramatic in-engine cutscenes, and quests rewards tailored specifically to your class.

For all its stumbles - and there are an awkward handful - Mists of Pandaria nevertheless represents a WOW participating in the massively multiplayer genre rather than revelling in the cult of its own personality.

If this were the first World of Warcraft expansion and you had all of the level 1-90 content to do, there is no doubt that it would have lasting appeal. But it isn't.

Even though Mists of Pandaria may be easing things up a little too much leveling-up wise, it's full of delicious content. But World of Warcraft's age is starting to show, both in terms of quest structure and storytelling. The humor is still a nice touch.

Pandaria could have been the best expansion of WoW. Unfortunately, the casual approach and the daily quests spoil the mood and the fun.

Yet again Blizzard brings us an great expansion with a great deal of content. The game brings a few major changes, and while some of them are great additions to the game, a few are disappointments to fans. Despite that Mists of Pandaria is a must-have add-on for every World of Warcraft gamer.

Fun and simple with loads of content to keep us busy. It's artistically brilliant, and its OST is a masterpiece. However it's extremely easy and too simple when it comes to the game mechanics. We still have to wait and see what is yet to come, so there's definitely room for improvement. It could have been better, but it's still special.

Mists of Pandaria has a lot to offer players. Its tone and style are a drastic departure from the super-serious-business of previous expansions. And that is commendable.

Four expansions in, it finally feels like World of Warcraft is slowing down. Unless you're currently sitting at 85, even pandas aren't going to bring you back into this one.

Can't believe I bought this game. The whole idea of it should have turned me off from the get go, but loyalty to the series made me want to try it. The game has become a simplistic MMO that requires very little time and effort to play, which is not what I'm looking for. A dumbing down of a genre is what were seeing here. Full Review »

Poor design, poorly planned out, causal-ized skills, bad launch. This xpac will be the downfall of WoW. Crossrealm is interesting, however it's lead to camp-the-spawn world PVP. Piles of bones at spawn and portal points. The expansion quests - mobbed with players trying to do "spawns once every 10 minutes" destroyable objects. Severe bottleneck quests that have long cinematic scenes, and require certain objects to be destroyed. Seriously, you'd think blizzard - with hundreds of millions in revenue, near a decade of running an MMO ... would they know how to design and run one? It's falling apart, it's like they want to destroy it. I didn't think there could be a step down from Cata, but there IS. And Mists of Pandaria - is it. Don't buy it if you haven't bought it. It's bad. Full Review »
