  • Summary: World Series of Poker features the likenesses of poker professionals participating in the 2005 WSOP Tournament. The game offers players a truly unique experience unlike any other poker video game on the market today. For the first time ever, the 2005 WSOP Tournament will be held at Harrah's Rio Suites in Las Vegas, the same location simulated in the video game and the location of the 2005 Lifestyle Show. All the sanctioned poker various of the World Series of Poker are available, including Texas Hold 'Em, 7 Card Stud, Omaha, and 5 Card Draw. With the flexible character creator, the player can create his or her own poker face, wear Vegas-style threads and upgrade looks/clothes as he or she gains money. [Activision] Expand

  1. For some reason, World Series on the PC is a completely different game from the console versions, with worse artificial intelligence, a completely different (and in some ways worse) interface, next to no character customization options, and no online play.
  2. This is a lousy simulation of the televised version. It looks terrible with its blocky graphics and herky jerky animation. The poker gameplay is about as average as you can get. There are better, more realistic poker games available on the net for free.
  3. The great license and the professional players just can’t make for an entertaining title thanks to a weak graphics engine and poor AI.

I do not agree with the other reviews. I find this enjoyable and simple to play, yet still real enough to keep it interesting. Compared to other simular titles I find the speed of the gameplay to be a positive. Other games tend have slow AI which really makes it not much fun. I thought the graphics are good, but wished for a little more customization for the players and an online mode would have been nice. Add the online mode and this would have been a great game. Expand

Sure the graphics are about the best Iwe seen in any PC version of holdem, but the gameplay... *sigh* About the worst. Also you can mention all the bugs... It took me about 5 minutes to find at least 3 mayor bugs, for exampel you can allways check... Quite nice to be able to look at the cards all the way to the river and even win the pot without even risking a dime, The soso graphics is the only thing that saves this misserable game from a 0/10 grade. World Series Of Poker has about the worst interface I have ever seen, which is sad because its snappy graphics make you think you're in for some real fun. Fun, this is not, it's just a big let down. The AI is sub-par, the betting menus are poorly done, and absolute worst of all it will show you what your opponent was holding even if you fold!! This isn't poker, this is a cheap, rushed, and altogether forgettable experience. The only reason it gets a 2 instead of a 0 is because of those flashy graphics. Don't bother. Online poker sites are much better and more realistic than this. Expand

Do not waste your money on this terrible representation of the WSOP - on the pc the AI gets it wrong some of the time, no player customization (only two to choose from, 2 men & 2 women), repeated annoying commentary, & the characters playing at your table are boring and have little animation. ...A horrible disappointment from Activision. this is the worst game i played for the poker genre you simply cannot win a game where your set up to loose from the start.i understand competition and all but how bout making the game hard and not letting the programming pre pick a winner.the blinds start same place cant add new profiles the play is set up so you can not possibly go all in.i have played three seasons and thr same thing keeps happening i get a good starting hand aa they call with q5 and end up with the nuts by river simply not the kind of game that will improve or entertain..thanks for nothing and wasting my money on garbage Expand
