  • Summary: A fully 3D RTS featuring three parties: the USA, Russia and Iraq. Whichever is chosen allows the player to select two campaigns, consisting of 5 missions on average. Features a first-rate weapon system: anti-aircraft, anti-tank, mass destruction weapons, highly destructive chemical weapons. The existing weapon systems allow the player to exploit weaknesses in the enemy defense. [JoWood] Expand

  1. Political climate aside, this is a great game. It is well designed and features great replay ability.

Black Gold's combination of intense real-time action, gorgeous graphics, and streamlined play make this one of the best real-time strategy games of 2001.
  3. It's an all-around great real-time strategy game that also happens to stand out from other games in the genre.
  4. Good game, but a copy of the game for each PC is a bit much If you want to play on a home network.
  5. With its incredible graphics, fulfilling gameplay, and thought provoking features, World War III is bound to satisfy any RTS buff, and anyone just on the lookout for a good, solid title as well.
  6. As empty-headed a treatment of modern conflict as you’re likely to find on store shelves. [Feb 2002, p.80]

Pro: Well balanced units, No major hang ups with interface. Con: Brain damaged AI and pathing. Archaic game engine (Its a square grid!)
