  1. Veteran players will probably tire of it after a couple of days since you can’t really do anything with changing out cards or making decks until after a long period of winning, and playing against what seems like the same cards over and over again may get dull.
  2. For Yu-Gi-Oh! fans, the meager options make it less attractive than one of Konami's dozen or so other, more fully featured Yu-Gi-Oh! games, and to players who don't already have an investment in the series, it has about as much to offer as a game of solitaire.
  3. Simply missing too many features to justify the purchase. Collectible-card-game fans should opt for "Magic: The Gathering Online" instead, so they can face truly challenging opponents: other human players. [Apr 2004, p.83]
  4. With the addition of any type of multiplayer Yu-Gi-Oh! would have been a solid competitor to other CCG videogames on the market. As it stands, it's merely a satisfying and addictive upgrade to Solitaire. [June 2004, p.81]
