  1. A reminder that sometimes a solid jaunt through a colorful little world is better than plodding through yet another post-apocalyptic wasteland. [Feb 2003, p.73]
  2. Younger players may like the simplistic style of play (those who missed the heyday of classic arcade games on big machines that ate quarters like candy), but older game players should shy away from this title.
  3. Its simple and forgiving dynamic, short span, and quirky characters hit its intended "family fun" mark. [Mar 2003, p.106]
  4. This generation of gamers may overlook this gem in the rough due to its rather hideous outward appearance. Sure this game is repetitive, but it serves as a great distraction and provides some downright wholesome fun.

A game this simple should, at its core level of gameplay, be fun. As much as I wanted to love Zapper, I just couldn't allow myself to become addicted to any of the fun elements it had to offer.
  6. Of course, the real nail in the gameplay coffin arrives with something I’m sure every gamer fears: boredom. Zapper just isn’t interesting to play, and rarely makes attempts to make gamers smile.
