The game's a bit short and doesn't provide much beyond the visceral glee of running over craploads of people who actually have it coming, but that's probably more than enough for the lean, $10 price tag.
  2. Fun while it lasts, but alas hit 'n' run is about all you get. [Mar 2010, p.95]
  3. It's short and simple, which is just as well. [Mar 2010, p.83]
  4. Running over zombie dogs is always fun. [Apr 2010, p.91]
  5. Zombie Driver isn't a bad game, but given the number of similar games on the market, there isn't really much to recommend it.
  6. Beyond being needlessly repetitive, there are some issues with the presentation that make Zombie Driver feel a bit unfinished or, at least, untested.
  7. Pretty funny...for the first hour or so. Then it keeps repeating itself, until you wish you could go back to the good old Carmageddon days. Just for zombie maniacs.
  8. Good fun until the novelty wears off. Which doesn't take that long, sadly. [Issue#30, p.56]
  9. Nice visuals, easy playability and boring after while... if you remember the old times when Carmageddon hit the streets you won’t be disappointed. [Issue#187]
  10. Ultimately, this is what you need to know: for ten bucks, you can buy the videogame equivalent of a bag of Cheetos and a porno mag, except the Cheetos are zombies and the naked people are driving cars with flamethrowers attached to them.
  11. Zombie Driver is simply a dull, unpalatable game.
  12. Flawed and monotonous. [Mar 2010, p.75]
  13. The lifeless Zombie Driver fails at being even mindless fun—these zombies should’ve stayed in the grave.

The recent patch has alleviated almost all of the issues that this game had at launch, playing it with a controller is much more enjoyable than with the keyboard. All thats needed is a free-roam game type and I'll be completely satisfied. Full Review »
  2. Repetitive and boring. The missions in Story mode are usually slight variations of the same thing. Slaughter (a.k.a. Survival mode) isn't much better and the camera is often proves to be not your friend. Most of the weapons are either Awesome but Impractical or are just plain useless. What's amazing is that the game lacks any kind of a Free Roam mode, despite the game is clearly built for one. Even though my system is above the recommended specs, the game just crawls. It almost feels like the game isn't that well optimized.

Not worth even the $10 price tag. Or $2.50. Or anything really.

  3. The hate this game gets is beyond me-I bought it for 2.49 and I love it. If you pay more than ten for this I guess you could gripe a bit. It is Death Race with Zombies. Play this game loud and with a couple of beers it is even better. That can lead to drunken facebook posts about your game score since the game allows you to post to facebook.

The art and sound has a solid feel to it-the environments and cars look polished and play well against each other visually-however it do not understand how you can destroy a light post but not a tree??the different game types (3) and the variation in the arenas with the multiple cars make it very replayable. Of course the missions are very similar but that is why you have different cars and different secondary objectives. I do enjoy the silly/stupid things the survivors say when you pick them up. My favorite is the racing mode-the game shines with all the carnage. i WISH it had multiplayer because that would make the race mode or co-op slaughter mode amazing.

I'd give a 10 but I am knocking off 1 point since you can't play against other people online.
