  • Summary: The ratings just keep rising, so Buzz is back with a new general knowledge show to keep all quiz fiends satisfied. Buzz! The Mega Quiz is bursting with new videos, music and photos, and an all-new database of 5,000 questions. The studio and presentation have been spruced up and Buzz is just as stylish as always. New rounds have been added alongside some old favourites, with the finale revamped for an even more exciting conclusion. With all this, plus refined multiplayer features, this title is set to tax even the most hardened quiz fan. Featuring all-new round types, including Point Picker, Winner Stays On and The Final Countdown, Buzz has also worked with producers to develop "Mystery Games" - special rounds where he takes to centre stage and challenges the contestants to take him on. These special rounds give Buzz the opportunity to show off his multi-talented nature as a card shark, horse trainer and all-round raconteur. [SCEE] Expand

  1. There's absolutely no doubt that The Mega Quiz is the strongest instalment in the Buzz franchise to date...arguably the first time that the balance of questions, rounds and presentation has been so close to perfection.
  2. Buzz! The Mega Quiz is definitely worth the $40. The game is a perfect complement to SingStar and the Guitar Hero games, and makes the PS2 quite a party machine.
  3. The game has a nice feel and is definitely the type of game you want to play with others. This is a solid multiplayer party game. The graphics are nothing special, nor – really – is the sound, but the game flows well and can present a challenge (depending on your difficulty level).
  4. This mega quiz is a mega bore. [Holiday 2007, p.78]

Tremendous fun - another strong addition to the franchise. (And that is Jason Donovan providing the voice of Buzz in UK/AUS versions).

Despite a "creepy" animated host (the mime character is creepy too) and sometimes obnoxious sound effects (the old lady character's song "Doing rather well, oh, I'm doing rather well" is the worst), this game is actually really fun. Funny, too, and there is such a wide range of question topics that it will keep everybody happy. The unique round types (such as Pie Fight and Point Stealer) are very fun. Even the grand prizes (my brother got a snow leopard) and the smaller trophies such as fastest answers, highest correct answer percentage, etc. will leave no player disappointed. Easy to set up, too! As close to a real game show as most of us will ever get. even better with more players.
