It may not be as sleek as some of the other racing games on the market, but is has certainly carved out its own place of individuality among the others, which is not an easy task as all gamers know.
That immersive, macho feeling makes the otherwise just-okay CART Fury worth at least a rent.
The quick races, which play a lot like a lamer, more grounded version of Hydro Thunder, only draw attention to the ghastly load times. [Aug 2001, p. 109]
Long on fun and short on replay, Midway's CART Fury is good light hearted racing that brings something new to the world of CART.
While initially exciting, the thrill of the speed will wear off within the first hour or so, leaving you with a poor arcade racer that's neither exciting enough to last beyond the initial play nor realistic enough to provide the depth of a real racer.
I really like the extreme concept behind CART Fury and its mini games are neat. But in a fast paced game like this on a next-generation system, the oh so slow going menus and loading time brings this race to a screeching halt.
The Driving physics are completely unrefined and lack the tight control that is needed to play the game. That tied with the enemy car AI that is completely useless and doesn’t provide an adequate challenge even on any level, the gameplay sinks faster than the titanic.

Summary In the tradition of "NBA Jam" and "NFL Blitz," Midway brings its over-the-top arcade style to the CART circuit in one of their most anticipated titles. The game is FAST and chock full 'o collisions, pile-ups, and power boosts.
