Even if you aren’t a fan of Cartoon Network in particular, you should still get the same sense of enjoyment out of this game as any cartoon fanatic would.
This is a fun addition to a young gamers DS library, and the Wi-Fi multiplayer should keep the older gamer content.
Unlike most arcade-style racers, your opponents make use of EVERYTHING, just like you can and should.
Cartoon Network Racing does a lot of things really well, just not the gameplay. It’s packed with extras, decent graphics and the personality of all the CN shows, but it doesn’t play as smoothly or comfortably as Mario Kart DS.
It frustrates with its difficult track designs and use of shortcuts, and the array of available racers seems drawn from the talent pool of 2001.
Conveniently for consumers, Cartoon Network Racing nicely fulfills its stereotype as a licensed kart racing clone: an unsurprising mediocre mirroring of one of gaming's most popular casual racers.
Possibly the most cynical and tawdry ripoff of "Mario Kart" we've ever seen....A horrible kart game, with pathetic handling, idiotic AI, and no racing tension at all. [Feb 2007, p.83]
