82A respectable action-packed arcade game that will provide hours of entertainment. Its certainly not the answer that hardcore flight-sim fans might have been hoping for, but then again, it doesnt pretend to be.
-
80The intensity of the missions, the fast-pace of the action, and the overall graphic flair of the game will have you coming back again and again, regardless of your patience levels.
-
80A light touch on the analog stick will be rewarded with precise control...Theres no multiplayer mode, so the fun doesnt last terribly long. Worth a weekend rental.
-
78When its all said and done, this game has a very arcade feel to it, and aside from unlocking new levels and helicopters, and getting the best grade on each mission, there really isn't a lot of depth. But that is not always a bad thing.
-
74The lack of diversity in crises as well as being confined to a single game map causes it to fizzle out rather quickly.
-
Graphically City Crisis is nothing special and after a while the gameplay does become rather repetitive as you simply perform the same operations over and over again.
-
70A fun and unique title that stands out from the crowd of sequels and me-too clones. Coupled with good gameplay and fantastic control and it's the first big hit for Take 2 on the PS2.
-
Even though it drove me nuts, I couldnt put it down. Its not a must have, but its well worth a look.
-
70Worth a bash if you can rent or borrow it from a friend.
-
67My other complaint is that the environments arent very interactive. There is a giant amusement park that you cant really do too much to.
-
Short-lived but fun. [Sept 2001, p.145]
-
63While the game isn't especially amazing to look at or play, City Crisis scores points for originality.
-
60Sound fun? It had the potential, but difficult controls and lack of stunning graphics will leave most people wondering why this wasnt released on the PSOne.
-
City Crisis won't rekindle interest in the genre, but it will eat up a few days of your time.
-
55Simply too short to be a worthwhile addition to your PS2 library. Saving people and property is a mild diversion at best.
-
While it's not inconceivable that someone would find pleasure playing this game, the vast majority of the buying public should wait for Namco's "Ace Combat 4."
-
The fun of it, however, is pretty thin, and City Crisis is probably best as a one-night rental and no more.
-
48The biggest problem is that there isn't really all that much to the game, as outside of a very slim Training and Time Attack mode, all we have here is a fairly bare bones Mission mode.
-
Simply one big anti-aliasing problem that exploded all over the place. Signature flickering is everywhere, so all you gamers prone to epileptic seizures should stay far, far away. The graphics are just shameful.
-
33Considering the simplicity of City Crisis, there is no reason that it should end so abruptly.
