An inspiring action title that will captivate you through its dramatic storyline and leave you striving on a quest for freedom.
It’s the touches like the resulting wounds and bloodstains from each swing of a blade or the limb damage that really keep you playing. Indeed, attention to detail is excellent throughout and Colosseum does a great job of creating and maintaining a consistent game world. [Sept 2005, p.108]

un juego excelente que definitivamente se merece un remake, tiene todo lo necesario para ser un juego de culto, jugabilidad, buenos controles, una progresión en el juego, aumento de dificultad y jefes en el proceso.... quizás solo le faltó más publicidad

Still the best gladiator sim on the market (though We Who Are About to Die is fastly catching up). A very fun game but it has no frills outside of what it set out to do. You are a gladiator, you train, you fight, that's it. And that is all it needs to be. There is some flaws in the AI, but overall I think this is a hidden gem.

While Colosseum tries, it fails on many levels to deliver an immersive experience, bogging down in staid and tired dialogue clichés, and struggling with camera angles and targeting.
One unforgiving gaming experience. If you are a card carrying button masher you'll want to pass; Colosseum's deep battle system isn't for the weak of heart. It may seem clunky and unintuitive at first but if you stick it out, you'll find a lot to love - but it's a hard battle to get there.
You can have some fun with this game but only if you're willing to forgive a lot of design flaws and put a lot time into memorizing the labyrinthine control scheme.
It wastes opportunities, it wastes the talents of its creators and - above all - it wastes your time.
This game was mad fun. If they would have kept this series going I think it could have gotten a huge following. Just this one alone was a fun great game that I still play today.

Затягивающая игра, пожалуй единственная в своеем жанре. Арена слэшер с елементами action RPG. Если преодолеть недружелюбную к новичку механику игры и разобраться в тонкостях (которые можно изучить только методом проб о шибок), то можно отлично провести 30+ часов в шкуре гладиатора с одноименного фльма. К сожалению есть много недочетов которые исправили только в Remix версии, но она доступна только на японском языке.
