If platform-hopping and coin-collection isn't your bag, you'll want to avoid Crash before he gets on your last nerve.
The graphics and sound are excellent, but the most constricting drawback is the extremely long gameplay-disrupting load times.

When the strongest feeling I get from a game is the desire to play its predecessors, something's not quite right. [Dec 2001, p.162]
It’s got average graphics and average level design. This game is as average as games can get.
Those looking for revolutionary gameplay or a game that pushes the envelope of the latest generation of gaming systems will most certainly be disappointed.
More of the same from the Crash series, albeit wrapped up in nice new PS2 visuals. If you want innovation, try elsewhere.
Not only is the gameplay un-revised on this much more powerful platform, but much of the former joy in the series has been drained away. The characters, levels and gameplay are essentially flat.

I recently played Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex again and must say, it brought back a lot of memories from my childhood. The graphics and gameplay are definitely dated compared to modern games, but it still manages to deliver a fun and challenging experience. I give it a 7/10 rating because while it's not quite as polished as some of the newer games, it still has that nostalgic feeling that makes it worth playing. If you're a fan of the original Crash Bandicoot games, I definitely recommend giving this one a try.

The game is practically a Crash 3: Warped and I say it because it adds absolutely nothing, the experience although it is somewhat entertaining is incoherent, since this does not take place after Crash 3 and that it is a sequel, in addition to the designs for more Those who have better technology are worse, since they use the new technology in a very bad way, it is a game that although it may give you a somewhat decent experience, it is a bad Crash game and there are many better options.

This game felt like a bunch of missed opportunities and rushed development.
It feels very regurgitated of what we've seen before in Crash 3, only with less pixelated appearance. But that's not necessarily an improvement, since the low-poly, low-quality designs of everything makes it feel so lacking.
I'd like to say that there's a nostalgic spot I have for this game, but I really can't stand some of the levels in this game. Once I get nearly half way through, I really feel only wasted opportunities of doing anything else with my time.
This isn't the worst Crash Bandicoot game, but it definitely isn't worth your time.
If there's anything good that came out of this game: The music consists of a very high quality diverse techno-symphonic soundtrack. I'd recommend checking that out instead.
