  1. Without a doubt the best in the series to date. If you love the franchise this game buy is a no-brainer.
  2. DDR Extreme not only gives DDR fanatics what they need with new songs, but it also adds cool new EyeToy features to the mix. Fans of the series and people with EyeToys should give it a look.
  3. Extreme's additions are extensions, not reinventions, and that's actually good news. With DDR Extreme, you know what you're getting; you're just getting more of it. [Oct 2004, p.33]

Unless you decide to blow huge amounts of cash on the nicest floor pads available (and I mean the top-of-the-line metal ones, not the excellent Ignition pads that RedOctane puts out), this game is unplayable except with a standard controller. And let’s face it, this game is Dance Dance Revolution, not Finger Tap Revolution.

I love DDR but in my opinion this version wasnt the best. The song selection is great and the new look makes the game look beautiful but the eye toy part is a joke. Mission Mode is cool too. Some of the songs are horrible and will make you want to bash your head against the nearest wall. >.> like "Go West" but then there are other classic songs that will have you damn near jumping across the floor. Like "Jet World" "321Stars" and my favorites "Drop Out" and "Legend of Max" Also the newer songs are cool too like Maximixer which is for the record under the "MAX" catagory. Expand

I'm still not totally sure about this one. on one hand, the mini-games and eye-toy features add a touch of welcomed originality, but on the other hand, the mix of songs is some what bland, consisting of a lot of american songs and remixes (kinda like UltraMix 2, only not quite as interesting). still a failry solid DDR game all around.
