  • Summary: DDRMAX will have you working up a sweat to over 65 songs. The 100+ minutes of music include licensed tracks, fresh dance hits, and cool new songs exclusive to the North American release. DDRMAX delivers never-before-seen in-game videos, new gameplay options, blistering 60-frames per second frame rates and the largest song library in franchise history. Further enhancing the gameplay experience is the introduction of the FREEZE ARROW option that freezes on-screen arrows and forces you to modify your dance steps thus increasing complexity and adding a twist to the routine. Popular gameplay options that return in DDRMAX are the Edit Mode that enables you to customize your own dance steps, and the special Work Out mode that tracks the number of calories burned with every move. With 71 freakin' songs, you'll be playing for months. [Dec 2002, p.70]
  2. With the massive amount of music, coupled with a evenly paced difficulty scale, DDRMAX is set to keep you entertained for the long haul.
  3. 92
The best home version of DDR ever made.
  4. The best DDR out right now. You get a plethora of songs, better graphics than those found on the PSone versions, the new freeze arrows, and more difficulty settings.
  5. While it appears to be ridiculous, I found it to be the most entertaining game I have played in a long while.
  6. Delivers the goods big time despite not delivering the ‘Revolution’ its title promises.
  7. If you're a DDR fanatic, there are plenty of songs on here with CRAZY difficulty, heck there's a whole mode that'll give you a heart attack trying to keep up with it. But for a novice player, the easier songs and settings are few and far between.

I was never into dance game in arcades but for god knows what reason I decided to pick this up when it came out and I have to admit it can be fun. I can somewhat understand the appeal this game might have on some people. Collapse
