EQOAInformerOct 31, 20030I do not recommend this game to casual players. Unless you are willing to do tedious tasks over and over again for little reward, and invest a great deal of your time and heart into this game, it will not be worth it. Don't take my word for it. Go to look at the game's official forums. See what the game's community says about it before you decide to join it.

The environments are graphically tedious, the targeting system is downright baffling, and unless you have a USB keyboard, you'll spend so much time navigating the cursor around to enter text, you'll think you should be getting experience points for it. [Feb 2004, p.103]

Frontiers is a damn good expansion pack and there's no reason not to have it if you have a character from the last game that is leveled-up somewhere in between 40 - 50. The replay value is incredible.

This is the kind of game that you have to sink many, many hours into, so you might just want to wait for the vastly superior "Final Fantasy XI." [Feb 2004, p.120]
