  1. FIFA 06 is a great game for both soccer novices and enthusiastic players alike, and is a worthy investment to a soccer fan's entertainment library.
  2. A true upgrade to the previous years, and as I mentioned before, is possibly the best version of the series since its inception.

Now more than ever if you haven't already started to look at "Pro Evo" perhaps you should, it plays much better and feels like more a game of football than FIFA 06 ever will.

EA has performed a great job by the reinvention of it's fifa series.the game is the best in it's series and it delivers both in gameplay and realism.fifa in the previous years lacked that cutting egde gameplay which have been crammed into fifa06.the game's new additions such as tactics and the new controls and added skills make a match up to pro evoand winning eleven.you don't expect fifa to be exactly like pro evo or winning eleven but it's interpretation of football is definite.fifa06 matches up to it's rival.fifa06's predessesors couldn't square up to pro evo or winning eleven but fifa06 has all it takes to beat pro evo or winning eleven.it is generally satisfying and great. it is all you need as a soccer game. Well the gameplay is just ok, what happened to exiting soccer moves like bicycle kicks and others. It seems everytime you touch the freestyle controls you end up doing the same thing again. The headers inside the box never look different NEVER!!! And please we have to bring the World Cup into the game. Expand

Let me just begin by telling you that this is the biggest letdown in the FIFA franchise (if you mostly play against the CPU). FIFA 2005 key features such as First Touch control, and Off the Ball Control, have been inexplicably scrapped. The gameplay has been terribly downgraded. For instance, in order to regain possession of the football, you'll have mark the opponent(by holding o), block (R2), and finally nick it away (press o). I mean, it takes more buttons to get something done, while it gives you the choice of exactly how to do it. EA claims to have realistic graphics. Well, let me tell you, I've never seen a wet pitch (field) as dark as the amazon green this game portrays. Additionally, EA should've emphasized on the build-up to next year's 2006 World Cup by having a [World Cup] Qualifying mode. So unless you're a die hard FIFA gamer, this version has less of the gameplay a lot of you liked from last year and only refreshed rosters and killer playlist in compensation. At the end, there are a lot of things that bug than please me in this game. Expand
