  1. This game is tougher than you would think. It’s not a mindless game of casting and bringing in fish after fish. You need to carefully plan a course of attack.
  2. Thanks to its tranquil setting and realism, this is a game that requires some patience... but when the fish start biting, its arcade-styled action cannot be beat.
  3. Game Informer
The complete package, with all of the options and modes that any angler could wish for in a fishing title. [Mar 2003, p.75]

After playing it for several hours, I started to see that it's a decent game. For fishing fans, it's a must-buy.
  5. One of the deepest, most accurate simulations of the real sport to date, which is to say it simply isn't for everyone.
  6. Official U.S. Playstation Magazine
Why would I want to play a game that consists mostly of waiting? [Apr 2003, p.87]
  7. 40
Dull, and not just because of its subject matter or slow pace. Obviously, fishing can only be so exciting, but the repetitive nature of the gameplay, the lack of rewards, and the high frustration level make for a tiresome experience.
