  • Summary: "Flipnic is an enjoyable simple-action amazing pinball game for you." And UbiSoft's delightfully surreal game is just that, a wonderfully entertaining slice of ball-flipping action that anyone can enjoy. The first thing you'll notice when you get your mitts on Flipnic is just how huge the 'tables' are. Based on five different themes, including Jungle, Techno and Metal, these unique worlds contain stunning landscapes, complete with their own individual wildlife, flora and fauna. The first set of tables has a lush tropical look, with butterflies floating over the game as you frantically bash buttons in an attempt to achieve Flipnic's surreal objectives. The challenges include saving pink flamingos from the jaws of hungry crocodiles, destroying UFOs, and feeding hungry monkeys by knocking bananas into their waiting paws. And when you're not putting your mean pinballing skills to the test in single-player mode, you can also throw down the gauntlet to friends in multiplayer modes, with Pinball Soccer and Pinball Basketball available for two-player action. Possibly the most surreal addition to the genre, Flipnic sports beautifully vibrant graphics, intuitive controls, and some of the best ball physics you'll ever encounter in a pinball sim. 1. Virtually every aspect of Flipnic's presentation is both wonderfully fresh and original. From the beautiful menu designs to the dry yet sweet voiceovers and the well orchestrated BGM tracks, the atmosphere generated is quite unlike anything else experienced.
  2. Flipnic, with its solid physics, dynamic tables, and Fantavision-esque presentation is fun and unique. It's also budget-priced, which is never a bad thing.
  3. Deformable landscapes, multiple level routes, context sensitive controls, impeccable camera control, inventive boss level. Flipnic would be one hell of an adventure game. [Dec 2003, p.99]
  4. I admire the daring look and crazy design of Flipnic, but the sparse tables and occasionally frustrating missions dull its polish.

I love this game! I'm 54 and have grown up on pinball, my son is 13 and grew up on video games. Flipnic is where we meet. The graphics are superb as are all the different arenas. Collapse

Much better than I expected - silly, but easy to play. Reccommended for kids.
  4. Flipnic deserves a harsh score. The third level becomes impassable, or at least takes up too much time to be fun anymore. I'm a hardcore gamer and I can't really figure it out. At some point you have to give up on the game. The graphics and sound are great. They didn't test the play logic enough and it doesn't make enough sense to be a good game. I wish objectives would have been more straightforward to clear and pass on to the next level. I think the difficulty is too high for a pinball game to still be fun. Not worth it in the long run.
