It's really difficult to connect with a song first time through if you're not familiar with it even though you're reading the arrows correctly. You may have to listen to the track a number of times to get the feeling down.
My other major complaint about the game is with the difficulty levels. The difficulty levels are fairly lopsided, Easy is too easy for someone who has played any other dance games, Medium is a huge jump up from it, and I was really not ready for it, then there is the hard setting which is just crazy.
While multiplayer mode and the workout options are nice inclusions, Flow doesn't offer anything beyond what you'll find in the latest installment of "DDR."
Although gamers who never got into other dance games won’t find much incentive to get jiggy with Flow, there’s enough variation here to make it worth a look for fans looking for new dancing frontiers.
The only thing that really sets Flow apart is its music. While "DDR" occasionally throws a hip-hop-flavored track in with the J-pop, Flow is 100 percent Brooklyn block party, circa 1981.
"Bland" pretty much sums up the entirety of Flow.
Literally minutes of entertainment. There's nothing really wrong with it but matching symbols really feels more like a medical reaction test rather than a must-play game. [Feb 2006, p.99]
