  1. A barely-average game. The karaoke aspect isn't bad until you realize you can trick the system very easily. Nonetheless, the excellent track list helps propel the game a bit to fans of the music.
  2. PSM Magazine
The sound-alike performers are okay, but it's a big problem that the interface offers too little guidance and no feedback as to what you're doing wrong - you can't tell if you're ahead or behind. [Holiday 2004, p.92]
  3. There's just a guilty pleasure that is inherent in the karaoke experience that helps this game despite its flaws.
  4. Nice idea, let down by dodgy controls. Without the incentive of hitting high notes, it's a lot like singing along to a tape. [GamesMaster]
  5. It was amusing to play in a party setting, getting to watch people get into the music who would not normally. An average title.
  6. The off-sync graphics are more humorous than they ought to be, the lyrics display makes it tough to keep up with subsequent verses, the censoring on some tracks is hit or miss, and the arrangement of some tracks puts focus on verses and choruses that aren't the main parts of the rap. Individually, any of those problems could be forgiven. Taken together, they make it tough to recommend this game to longtime fans of rap and hip-hop.
  7. Had it featured the original songs by the original artists and had a more workable interface, it could have been lots of fun.
  8. 55
Tries and fails to make a singing game with some hip-hop flavor, but in the end it's little more than a slightly interactive hip-hop karaoke program with a good selection of songs.
  9. Pelit (Finland)
There are plenty of great rap songs there but when you actually try to play the game torture begins. [Jan. 05]
  10. Get On Da Mic does offer other options such as the opportunity to spit your own sounds and a multiplayer freestyle battle but both are about as appealing as a new Dizee Rascal record. If 'cool' is what Eidos was aiming for it has missed by an 8 mile.

It's a rap-flavored karaoke program with a minor gameplay element and nowhere near enough songs. It's a missed opportunity... and that's whack, yo.
  12. One of the saddest stories of 2004, as it's a game that's chock full of everything a rhythm game should have, but it trips and falls off the stage because the actual singing aspect has been so poorly developed. It's just heartbreaking to sing a song perfectly and score fewer points than someone who's making it up as they go.
  13. 50
It hurts me to give this game a low score, because it really is a good concept that just failed in execution.
  14. Game Informer
A poor delivery and shoddy production values ruin Get On Da Mic. [Dec 2004, p.177]
  15. Where "SingStar" can distinguish a merely bad singer from a woeful one, Get on Da Mic has a hard time differentiating between a skilled rapper and a baby dribbling into the microphone.

The game is ok, the game play sucks though, you cant train on it, there is no tutorial that can help you out by explainig when is hte right The game is ok, the game play sucks though, you cant train on it, there is no tutorial that can help you out by explainig when is hte right time to spit, the song list is good i like 65 % of the songs, but there is nothing on the game that makes you look forward to keep on playing it, no unlocked songs on the game, no extra accesories, the only thing that ive found you can unlock is some characters and a harder difficulty over all the game is ok if you like hip hop, but i dont recomend it to somebudy that cant read less than 3 words a second the bar flys through the lyrics and you dont even expect it, they give you no heads up. The only thing i can tell you is to try out out first get somebody to buy it some buddy as stupid as me that is willing to spend up to 65 dollars on the game, try it out maybe you'll like it more than i did........
