  1. GMR Magazine
Even if players know a song front to back, the pace is awkward and destroys a sense of rhythm. [Dec 2004, p.104]
  2. It's not really a game. It's a glorified karaoke machine with a really, really poor interface.
  3. The minute you discover the lack of true voice detection, all the fun is spoiled.
  4. Plagued by gameplay issues and amateur graphics and sound. Get On Da Mic? Get off da shelves.
  5. A disappointment from top to bottom. The soundalike song performances are sketchy, the entire gameplay and lyric display systems are deeply flawed, and the decision-making that went into the editing and censoring of the game's songs is totally scattershot.
  6. Cheat Code Central
Aside from the novelty of trying to rap a few of your favorite songs, this game is more than lame. It would be useful for up and coming rappers to hone their chops but do we really need to perpetuate this dumbed-down art form? Get the karaoke game and learn how to sing.
  7. 40
Humming the words or making any sound at all into the microphone will get you through these so-called challenges. And that's just plain wack.
  8. 34
To say that Get On Da Mic is a letdown is a huge understatement. It instead feels like a game that never made it past the first stage of testing.
  9. If Gamenikki scored games with singers instead of numbers, Get On Da Mic would be Milli Vanilli.
  10. When all is said and done, Get on da Mic fails at just about everything it sets out to do.
  11. 40
The censoring of the songs is often amusingly stupid. Apparently, "dope" is now a bad word. While it might cater to suburbanites with hip-hop dreams, this is an unintuitive mess that's almost impossible to play.
  12. Official U.S. Playstation Magazine
The various hip-hop accoutrements that GODM outfits its players with do little to alleviate the fact that the core element, actual rapping, is weak. [Dec 2004, p.106]
  13. Sets the stage for success with an awesome track list, but fails miserably with its totally weak skills. Please, put down the mic.

The game is ok, the game play sucks though, you cant train on it, there is no tutorial that can help you out by explainig when is hte right The game is ok, the game play sucks though, you cant train on it, there is no tutorial that can help you out by explainig when is hte right time to spit, the song list is good i like 65 % of the songs, but there is nothing on the game that makes you look forward to keep on playing it, no unlocked songs on the game, no extra accesories, the only thing that ive found you can unlock is some characters and a harder difficulty over all the game is ok if you like hip hop, but i dont recomend it to somebudy that cant read less than 3 words a second the bar flys through the lyrics and you dont even expect it, they give you no heads up. The only thing i can tell you is to try out out first get somebody to buy it some buddy as stupid as me that is willing to spend up to 65 dollars on the game, try it out maybe you'll like it more than i did........
