This game in my opinion is a very good game. They were careful about the whole 'coffee mod' cheat that was in GTA:SA, in LCT there's barely any sexual reference. Plus, there's a good 2 and a half days of gameplay. The graphics are nice, and the game runs smoothly.

Even tho i enjoy playing and am a huge fan of all the gta games i thought liberty city stories would be a great follow up but it was a huge let down to having played last san andreas, being set in the same islands as gta 3 made it not very exciting, mission's were too easy if you ask me and not very challenging at all...it didnt take me long to complete...i thought tht games were to be imporved as they went along this jus proves im wrong and liberty city stories is a insult to the other 3. People that give this game a bad rating are missing the point completely - this is not the all singing, all dancing sequel we expect from Rockstar, but more of a "filler" game to keep fans ticking over. Think of it as "Diet GTA", as it has been stripped of a lot of features and size that we enjoyed in San Andreas. This is just a little slice of nostalgic gaming, with a few new cars and a new storyline. Why do you think it costs so little? Exactly. Expand

i think that this game is a rip off of gta3.the graphics are the same as every other gta and you do the same old stuff like in every other gta.it was a good price for the game though ( $14.99) . i hope the next gta that comes out will be a lot different because if it isnt im not buying anymore of the gta games because its a waste of money.

It's cool to see the same streets from GTA 3 again. But the missions seem to be a bit weird. You have to do missions for your own mother and take pictures of guys in diapers....which is strange. There is some added cars to the Liberty City streets. The graphics are the same as always. For $20 its not bad though.

for people that don't have a psp and are harcore GTA fans may find some joy in this, but if you got a psp, buy this game on that. it's actually plays better. the controls feel clunky, it's not polished. the game is small in comparison to other GTA games. the game isn't all that bad though, just not a sony or rockstar quality ps2 game. good for low budget gamers.

this is not a new G.T.A please dont give it a bad score because you think its a rehash of gta III it's here for people without a psp who want to extend there enjoyment of the origanal with new cars missions and bikes how cool is that and it costs so little.

I'm being nice giving this game an "8", because the graphics are nice, it plays nice, and it's only $20. However, it is more of the same ol' same ol'. If Rockstar goes with the same ol' formula with GTA 4 and Vice City Stories, it doesn't matter if the graphics are nice, it plays nice, and its soundtrack is nice, because fans (or at least me) will be spending their money on something nicer. I grew up with this genre and this one was good. The story was actually pretty impressive seeing that it was a prequel. It's cool. Not amazing like it's brethern. I'm not gonna go down on Rockstar

OK, so many people say this is worse than San Andreas. Its not. If anything, its better. The only thing that makes SA better is the cheats. Kinda bad story line but WHO CARES?

Tony Cipirani returns as a badass in Liberty City Stories. LCS is the second last installment in the GTA III universe and it takes place 3 years before GTA III and its well better than GTA III. LCS has the same graphics as San Andreas but its not better in my perspective, The gameplay looks the same the story was really cool it really felt like you were a part of the Mafia. The Best thing about the game was Tony Cipirani because we all know him from GTA III but now its all about him so really cool, the worst thing about the game was that it was not released on the PC or XBOX. But overall the game just had me completly blown away. 8/10 Expand

With nothing added and multiplayer stripped completely, there’s no reason to buy this game if you’ve already played the original. Still, it nevertheless provides a unique, satisfying experience.
  2. A lack of flourish and invention, along with a tired set of on-foot mechanics, rob it of a higher mark - but too much stands in its favour not to recommend it.

It is a full-fledged GTA experience, and it is only $20 (even cheaper if you shop around), which means it's an incredibly good value for money at a time when the PS2 is absolutely starved for great new games. Don't buy it if you've played the PSP version, but if you haven't -- it's great.
