The sequel is a much more thorough game than its predecessor but offers more bang for the buck.
An improvement over the original, Greg Hastings' Tournament Paintball MAX'D is sure to impress devout FPS fans.
MAX'd would probably appeal to hard core paintball players, but the average gamer may get confused with all the gear and stat configuration that normally don't go hand and hand with a First Person Shooter.
Greg Hastings' Tournament Paintball Max'd captures the intensity and excitement of paintball, and in the end it's only limited by the confines of the sport itself.
Painballing gets its own video game, with smooth gameplay and decent visuals that will appeal only to fans of the sport.
It faithfully captures tactics and the energetic pace, with speed and strategic use of cover of equal importance to shooting accuracy.
It's largely the same game with the bonus elements of online play, voice-commandable teammates, and a map editor. Nothing more, nothing less. [Mar 2006, p.78]
