Guilty Gear Isuka brings revolutionary upgrades to the acclaimed series with 4-player simultaneous play, deep customization and all-new game modes. New characters and arenas and returning trademarks such as precision fight system, hi-res animation and a colorful cast firmly establish Guilty Gear Isuka as the heir to the title of premiere 2D fighter. Features 4 player simultaneous fighting, combo upgrading and entirely new modes of play make this the deepest Guilty Gear ever; All new fight arenas, and three new characters totaling an amazing 23 fighters in all; Side-scrolling Boost mode offers an exciting new single-player action game experience; Blindingly fast play with precise control, an arsenal of killer combos and the ability to play as teams will make masters out of men; Amazing character design and premise from renowned artist Daisuke Ishiwatari
Killer new soundtrack heavily influenced by rock-and-roll and heavy metal. [Sammy Studios]

  1. Nice touches are strewn about the game such as dust clouds that arise in the wake of your characters, bright visuals that can blind a cat and my favorite, minute versions of your characters by the energy bar that mimic your character's current actions.

Combat is full of crazed, blood-pumping, lip-chewing action. I used up half a stick of Chapstick playing this game, and it normally takes me a month and a half to use that much.
  3. It is a lot faster paced than "Blade Warriors" and surprisingly you can somewhat button mash in this game (Usually doesn't work out though since the game requires a massive amount of skill).

Isuka has the same deep, 2D fighting that's been around for years, but it's also remarkably fresh. [Holiday 2004, p.98]
  5. Certainly not the revolution in 2D fighting games that Arc System Works describe it as, or we were hoping for. We won't bore you with any more of the Greek myth or ornithology laboured analogy crap, we're sure you get the picture.

Instead of a fantastical jaunt down a rabbit hole, Isuka is more similar to being unceremoniously stuffed into a dingy crawl space. [Dec 2004, p.177]

After two ass-kicking PS2 installments, the Guilty Gear fighting series has finally KO’d itself.

Could have been great but the single player mode got pretty much ruined thanks to a turn around button. It's playable, mainly as the gameCould have been great but the single player mode got pretty much ruined thanks to a turn around button. It's playable, mainly as the game seems strangely easy, but still is just a bit annoying. Talking about its difficulty, I'm far from a hardcore fighter but could beat characters in this game on the hardest setting, which was another big flaw. Expand
