  • Summary: Roaring through 8 massive, exotic levels as fast as a professional watercraft rider, you're the envy of all other racers. While racing one of your highly stylized watercraft through raging rivers, turbulent rapids, massive waterfalls and hair-pin turns in far off lands such as Atlantis, the Artic, and humid South American jungles, you know you're good. But you're not alone. Your competitors know the intensity of the races. They know that this is not just a race of speed, but a test of extreme trick skill. They also know they want to beat you. They are ready for the challenge. Expand

  1. It's been developed so that the more you play it, the more you enjoy it. And there's enough depth and unlockables--not to mention a two-player mode--that this one is far less likely to collect dust than any other racers you may have in your collection.
  2. Performing stunts is easy -- almost too easy, if you ask me.
  3. If you’re looking for a technically gorgeous title that truly shows off the depth of its environments to the limits of the system hardware, X2O does a beautiful job of giving the player amazing water effects.
  4. I thought this game was fun... for 10 minutes. Every time I fired the game up I really wanted to see that "SSX Tricky" splash screen instead. "SSX" is just a lot more fun and satisfying.
  5. Unfortunately, frustrating AI, boring course variety, and uninspired tricks give this game a slightly above average, generic feel.
  6. Jet is not a wolf in sheep's clothing, it's a sheep in sheep's clothing. It's just what you would expect and nothing more.
  7. "SSX" looked better two years ago, and the water comes nowhere near equaling that in last year's "Splashdown." [Dec 2002, p.160]
