  1. Filled with all of the delightfully loony character of the Looney Tunes cartoons and their wildly hilarious antics, Space Race is a game that will not fail to amuse or bring a smile to your face.

A game that's just wanting to be similar to the Sega Dreamcast, but failed in any way. Pick up the Dreamcast version of this game. It's better though.

So I'm the kind of gamer who loves to find old games on store shelves and pick them up for dirt cheap. Not too long ago I picked up this titleSo I'm the kind of gamer who loves to find old games on store shelves and pick them up for dirt cheap. Not too long ago I picked up this title 'space race' for my PlayStation 2 for only £1, as I went to put the disk in I didn't think I'd get too much from this game because of the small price I paid. I am now hours into the game and I can easily say this is a great game, not because it has any amazing visual effects or mind-blowing story...this game is fun because it has great gameplay, far from perfect but still it's great fun.

So I'm going to mention the presentation, they are cell shaded and still thirteen years later look good, the characters all look like they should and menus are clean and work just fine. The next part I will go through is the sound...it's nothing special, yes the characters sound great but the music and sound of the vehicles is just completely average, the sounds of your power ups are also pretty good but nothing amazing so don't go buying a huge sound system for this title. Gameplay wise as I've stated this is the games high point, it's fun with plenty of modes, you can play through plenty of tournaments, acme events with enable and disable certain power ups and even your boost these make the racing fresh and fun but to enjoy this game the most, grab some beers and some friends and play this into the night. yes go back to the split screen days it is awesome!

Now I want to go onto content, this game doesn't have a lot of it, it may be thirteen years old but games from 1999 like gran turismo 2 packed in the content to keep you coming for months even years but this game only has 14 tracks, a handful of power ups, a boost mechanic by collecting cans on the floor and you won't believe this....ONLY 9 playable characters! they managed to include Wile-e coyote but the didn't include roadrunner? the looney tunes universe it massive! why only 9 characters? three of which need unlocking, this is the games biggest downfall for most people. however there are plenty of game modes with ACME events changing every race, split screen and tournament mode which earns you tokens to purchase new items in the store.

Now for my final verdict on this game.
What this game lacks in content it sure makes up for that with amount of modes and pretty much amazing gameplay, this game could keep you coming back for a while if you have friends over then grab a few beers and play this game, it's fun like a lot of todays games miss the point of, you don't need amazing visual effects to make a game great, you need good old fashioned split screen and plenty of game modes, I think anyone will be surprised just how well this games visuals stand even today, the cartoon look makes the game age well, all in all this game is a must play, it's cheap fun & has plenty of game modes to keep you playing, it's just a shame about the small amount of playable characters in a universe so vast. My final score for this fun game is an 8/10
