Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa is a great game for kids, teens, parents…heck…everybody is going to love this game. I literally couldn’t put it down for five hours until I absolutely had to go to bed and then it was the first thing I played when I woke up until I finished it.
Lots of variety and funny cutscenes make the second Madagascar game a good reason to escape to Africa.

Brilliant fun, humorous and entertaining without being condescending to its audience. [Issue#41, p.97]
Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa certainly isn't the best game of the year, but it's not a bad game for kids who enjoyed the film series.
So, as long as you’re between the ages of 6 and 9 (or you’re buying/renting for such a person) you’ll likely have some fun with Madagascar : Escape 2 Africa.
Honestly, this truly is one of those kids only games.
Unleash this on an unsuspecting child and social services could very well come knocking. [Feb 2009, p.81]
