Vote 10, or however 9,5. What is missing in the European version is to actually hear the players and coaches outburst on the field, unlike the 2001 version where the players did the talking. Madden versus NFL 2K3, well madden is way more strategic and realistic when it comes to playcalling (audibles is not possible in NFL 2K3) and further in 2K3 you can actually see if the opponent comes Vote 10, or however 9,5. So to me the ultimate game experience would be Madden with player and coaching outbursts combined with the slightly better graphics of the NFL 2K3 version. Notice also that in the Madden PS2 version the commentatory from Michaels and Madden is high class compared to other games, even compared to the Madden XboX version (european version that is). This is the best game ever made and can only be compared to a highclass game like MGS and MGS2. Expand

I may be a bit biased considering that Madden is the only NFL game I play, but this is absolutely the best game I have ever played football wise. I don't know what everyone else is doing but I have absolutely no problems whatsoever in breaking long gainers on runs or pass. This game is absolutely amazing, and I thought 2002 was amazing, I am salivating at the thought of 2004.

The game play is excellent but I must say that when in All Madden the DB's are super human, doing impossible things. Part of this is due to the play call but there are instances where they just can't do some of the things they are doing in the game...

A solid game despite a few noticable flaws, particularly the offensive lines innability to open up holes for the running backs. Other than that, this game is an all-star.

I wish when your team played on monday night it would start off with monday night football song and feel like its really a mnf game while your playing. And it should show John and AL in the booth and Mellisa on the sidelines. Or halftime interviews. with players or coaches.

The music nearly ruined this one for me (minus the sound I'd give it a 9). Last year's sound track fit better and wasn't as obnoxious and in your face. The game itself still rocks, of course, although I'd swear that EA's NCAA game has brighter, more crisp graphics.

I rented this year's Madden 2002 and thought that it was going to be a lot better than it was. There are quite a few things I don't like about it, like the new screen to pick your offensive and defensive plays. It also seemed that the screen gets darker when your on the field, which makes it a little hard to see (it doesn't get that dark in the shadows). I used Curtis Martin for a full season and playoffs and the longest run I broke was for 40 yards. Come on! Also the receivers tended to drop a lot of passes if you didn't move the "hands" bar to full. They are pros for crying out loud! The expanded create a team was cool and overall it is still a very fun football game, but I can't see spending $50 to buy it when I already have one just as good (Madden 2001) Expand

I give this game a 7 out of 10, not due to its content, but the legacy associated with it. I do not even really like sports games, and I really enjoyed this. The reason it gets a 7: Why didn't they stop at 2003 and focus on making good sports games instead of patching up previous ones and slaping the year it is released onto it?

I think the graphics are great and the sound is good. The game play in all madden mode sucks. The AI will use every unbelievable circumstance in football to steal a win. If you destroy the computer in madden mode the AI will not allow the player to have any realistic chance to beat it again. The dB's will play like super humans. This game sucks it is incredibly onesided against the novice player john when you create a game at least teach the user what the play is for(run, pass etc) not just to say in game play "a smart coach would choose this play" explain why it would be a good play

  1. I hate to use a cliché, but the number of game modes in Madden 2003 are mind-boggling.
  2. Madden 2003 is the best overall football game ever made, period...Denying it the perfect score it so richly deserves just because "NFL 2K3" comes soooo close to unseating it would be a crime.

This game isn’t perfect, however, I found that the running game was a little too stingy for my tastes. I had a hard time breaking a run for more than 10 yards and more often than not, the gaps in the defense would close far too fast.
