  • Summary: Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is an action/RPG that features the largest roster of comic book characters ever seen in a video game. Players assume the roles of more than 20 Marvel Super Heroes including Spider-Man, Wolverine, Blade and Captain America, and through their actions determine the fate of both planet Earth and the Marvel universe – revealed in one of multiple epilogues. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance offers total team customization, where players create their own team name, icon and vehicle, as well as establish their team reputation as they play throughout the story. Gamers also have the option to level up each character individually to their liking, or all team members at the same time to keep their heroes balanced. With the game's new combat system, players battle against the world's most notorious Marvel Super Villains in the air, underwater, and on the ground, using grappling, blocking and dodging moves, by charging up their Super Hero powers before unleashing them, and using environmental objects as one and two-handed weapons. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance features a storyline where the missions players accept, the objectives they complete, and their interactions with other characters throughout the game directly impact how the story plays out. The game also features a robust multiplayer component where fans can band together with friends as their favorite Marvel Super Heroes, and fight evil in both on and offline cooperative story modes. There's also a Competitive Mode where the game tracks various in-game stats so players can see how well they stack up against one another – affecting the amount of experience points earned and how equipment is distributed. 1. The critical path is incredibly long and is joined by bonus comic missions for most of the characters. The teammate AI is very impressive, often getting to baddies before you even see them, but once again, Raven has designed a game that is better through cooperative play.
  2. It's got more Marvel Superheroes and Villans than I knew even existed. It's got the same rock-solid gameplay I've come to expect. And it's got some nice new team focus additions that make the game even better.
  3. "X-Men Legends" on steroids. It’s bigger and better.

Despite a few welcome wrinkles to combat and character customization, this is pretty much the same game we’ve seen before. The level design and puzzles are a snooze, lacking any innovation. But who cares? This game is about gathering a few friends and laying the smack down on some villains.
  5. Appealing to a multitude of fans, including those of Marvel, action-RPGs and multiplayer, most gamers should feel little hesitation in giving Marvel: Ultimate Alliance a try.
  6. Overall, Ultimate Alliance is entertaining no matter which version you decide to play. [Jan. 2007, p.80]
  7. Decent comic book effort which certainly captures the Marvel spirit. Unlikely to become as revered as the icons that star in it, though. [Christmas 2006, p.97]

This is a game that should have failed miserably but instead you get a really deep experience, the story is complex and surprisingly deep, the gameplay is solid, and it's just a blast to play, the graphics are great, the sound is outstanding, the controls are good but you'll mostly use them for button mashing, it has an rpg like effect that succeeds in the end, all in all it's all the characters and all the hidden secrets and side quests that kept me coming back for more, it has some great co-op too, if you like Marvel and there games than this is a game that will find it's way into your heart and into your collection. I liked this game because the awesome graphics and that you can play as Storm, but the game is boring and too long, the story is too complex and the puzzles are too hard. i also don't like when you can play so much characters, can't they make this game with 4-5 characters? Expand

This should be called Ultimate Gang Beating. Not enough enemies for your team to pond on, it's always a race to get the baddie for the Exp Pts. Little to no teamwork can be done, unlike Justice League Heroes which forces you to act as a unit. Nice graphics though and the sheer number of characters is nice for replay. Team mates AI isn't that smart though usually leaving you to fight the main boss by yourself. Definitly made for multiple players. Expand

A premissa sem duvida é muito boa, reunir os principais herois da Marvel em uma unica aventura é bem legal. Mas o game tem muito em que se pode melhorar, potencial tem. Pode ser aproveitado como uma franquia no futuro. Expand

I originally bought this game as a marvel fan. i heard it was awesome, and i like marvel comics (though not as much as DC), and decided to try it out. I jumped on in, and the game began. After mowing down several baddies, i figured i'd get a really strong boss/subboss to fight. i got half of what i wanted. when a super villian appeared (in this case, scorpion), i fought him and defeated him by litterally pressing the same button over and over again. You'd figure that a super villian will put up a better fight. unfortunately, most villians were like this, aside from a couple hard ones. I got bored of the game after only a few levels. Months later, my friend wanted to try it and i gave it another go, hoping it would be better later. Sadly, even playing with my friend didn't take away the atrocious gameplay and horrible boss battles that this game had to offer, and sadly, my final verdict is that this game is for die hard marvel fans only. I'd rather play Aquaman: Battle for Atlantis than this. Collapse
