  1. They look, sound and feel just like the originals.
  2. Four worthwhile games, two stinkers, and one oddity.
  3. All 6 games (and one bonus) still stand as some of the best and most challenging of 2D gaming, starring one of the most revered characters in the gaming universe. [Jan 2006, p.49]

An excellent flashback to old-school gaming in its finest hour. [Feb 2006, p.70]

It's a shame that there aren't as many games on this compilation as there were on the Anniversary Collection ("Mega Man Soccer" really should've been included), but you're still getting some fun games (expect, of course, "Mega Man X6").
  6. If you can put up with a few outdated cliches, and the occasional irritation, though, this collection has a lot of prime gaming packed onto the disc. [Feb 2006, p.103]
  7. A rare example of a perfectly done retro collection. [Feb 2006, p.82]

The original Mega Man X is my second favorite game in the series, though it is easily one of the most carefully polished and well put together games in the series.
  9. Even though the later Mega Man titles are not as good as the first few, it is still a very incredible collection of Mega Man X games in one nice little package.
  10. As a compilation, this is a nicely rounded collection of classic games, presented flawlessly and filled with just enough bonuses to satisfy the hardcore fans. Not all the games are great, but the total package is well worth the price.
  11. In the grand scheme of things, this collection of X is quite good, though I prefer the original series for its curtailed story and straightforward gameplay.

Mega Man X 1 alone is good enough to sell this- everything about the game was fantastic, both brilliantly innovative and intuitive, whileMega Man X 1 alone is good enough to sell this- everything about the game was fantastic, both brilliantly innovative and intuitive, while keeping everything that made Mega Man 2 so awesome years earlier. The X series is what really made the Megaman Series great, notably X1-X3. X2 and X3 sell for Mega bucks on ebay, too. X4-X6 are almost as The X series is what really made the Megaman Series great, notably X1-X3. X2 and X3 sell for Mega bucks on ebay, too. X4-X6 are almost as good. Great music is another cool thing.
