It's a shame that there aren't as many games on this compilation as there were on the Anniversary Collection ("Mega Man Soccer" really should've been included), but you're still getting some fun games (expect, of course, "Mega Man X6").
  3. All 6 games (and one bonus) still stand as some of the best and most challenging of 2D gaming, starring one of the most revered characters in the gaming universe. [Jan 2006, p.49]
  4. Mega Man X Collection follows the same basic formula as Capcom's excellent first Mega Man compilation, but it just doesn't have quite as much to offer.

While its overall game quality and list of extras isn't nearly as consistent or flashy as its Mega Man cousin, there's still a lot to like... especially at the reasonable price of less than thirty bucks.
  6. Collections such as these should serve as a punctuation mark on the series, and as such should come packed full of extras so that even those fans who already own the included games individually will feel enticed to return to the checkout counter. That isn't the case here.
  7. No one can refute that getting seven games for $30 is a good deal. But be warned some of these games are definitely better than others.

Mega Man X 1 alone is good enough to sell this- everything about the game was fantastic, both brilliantly innovative and intuitive, whileMega Man X 1 alone is good enough to sell this- everything about the game was fantastic, both brilliantly innovative and intuitive, while keeping everything that made Mega Man 2 so awesome years earlier.
